Rolex Oyster Perpetual Collection iN 2020
If we were to boil the Rolex catalogue down to a few classic quintessential elements, those building blocks would reveal the “Oyster Perpetual”. From there on some could possibly want to add a date, a calendar, a chronometer, or other complications; thus evolving towards independent collections with their own merit. But, to keep it simple and wear a Rolex means choosing an “Oyster Perpetual”. And to more adequately accommodate such desires 2020 has just ushered in a wide array of dial options, various sizes, plus a new caliber movement.
The stainless-steel 36 or 41mm model is put together by a middle case with a screw-down case back. This 41mm option is a significant increase over the 39mm version, which this new current production has come to replace.
Mounted to the case is a domed bezel with a polished finish that further pops out, due to the visible contrast it creates comparatively to the brushed finish main case.
It comes equipped with a screw-down setting crown, equipped with a waterproofness system. All topped by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Water-resistance on these watches can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time can be exhibited on wide array of colors that can be slightly distinguished amongst themselves by the sunburst finish: silver, black, and blue options;
or the lacquered finishes in green, coral red, yellow, and turquoise blue. A visit to the Rolex website will send you down a configuration path where these details can be customized.
Beyond that in common all dials feature the classic rectangular hour index markers, followed by a ring of smaller printed minute markings with cubes for every 5-minute increment.
The central hour/minute hands and hour index markers can be had made out of yellow or white gold. Another novelty in this updated 2020 collection is the luminescent material on all versions now being a blue Chromalight, instead of the green glow of its predecessors.
