IWC Schaffhausen returns as the official timing partner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship for the sixth consecutive year, marking the occasion with a new colorway for its larger Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 43. Held annually in St Andrews, Scotland, the golf tournament brings together professional and amateur players across both individual and team competitions. For 2026, IWC accompanies the event with the new Ref. IW378008, pairing an olive green sunray-brushed dial with gold-plated hands, while retaining the familiar 43mm stainless steel construction and manufacture caliber 69385. Unlike an event-specific limited edition, the new model joins IWC’s permanent collection.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 43 Ref. IW378008 is housed in a stainless-steel case measuring 43mm in diameter and 14.8mm thick. Its surfaces combine brushed and polished finishing, retaining the substantial proportions and familiar utilitarian architecture of IWC’s larger Pilot’s Watch Chronograph.

A sapphire crystal caseback provides a view of the automatic caliber 69385, including its openworked oscillating weight and movement finishing. Visible decorative elements include perlage and circular striping, adding a more refined presentation to the otherwise instrument-inspired exterior of the Pilot’s Watch.

The screw-in crown is positioned between the two chronograph pushers on the right side of the case, providing access to winding and setting functions while the pushers operate the chronograph. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial, complemented by the sapphire display back. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).

The principal update for Ref. IW378008 is its olive green dial with a sunray-brushed finish, introducing a warmer shade of green than those previously used across IWC’s Pilot’s Watch collection. Gold-plated hands provide a contrasting accent, while the numerals, markers and scales are printed in white to preserve the highly legible appearance associated with IWC’s aviation watches.

The familiar tri-counter chronograph arrangement remains unchanged, combining central hours and minutes with chronograph seconds, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter, alongside running small seconds. Day and date apertures provide additional calendar information, preserving the functional layout associated with the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 43.

White Super-LumiNova is applied to the dial indications and the gold-plated hands, providing visibility in low-light conditions. The combination of the luminous white markings, metallic hands and sunray-brushed olive background creates clear contrast while allowing the new color palette to distinguish this reference from existing versions of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph.

The “IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 43” (Ref#: IW378008) is powered by the automatic mechanical movement, caliber 69385 with 33 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vph, or 4Hz. Developed for IWC within Richemont’s ValFleurier movement infrastructure, the caliber uses a column wheel to control the chronograph and comes equipped with central chronograph seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, small seconds and day-date indications. Its openworked oscillating weight is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback alongside the decorated movement. Power reserve can last up to 46 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted on this watch is a five-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, complementing the brushed and polished surfaces of the case.

IWC also supplies an olive green rubber strap secured by a stainless steel pin buckle, allowing the bracelet and strap to be exchanged without tools through the brand’s EasX-CHANGE system.
