Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre Collection

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre Collection

After more than 30 years of creating watches for James Bond and his allies, Omega is turning its attention to the other side with the new Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre Collection. Marking the first Omega special edition dedicated specifically to Bond’s infamous adversary, the new Spectre model transforms the no-date Seamaster Diver 300M with a monochromatic black dial, ceramic bezel and an octopus-shaped oscillating weight representing the organization’s emblem. The individually available steel watch is joined by an even more elaborate 77-piece collector set pairing a numbered version of the steel model with a Platinum-Gold edition featuring a solid white gold dial engraved with an octopus-inspired pattern.
The steel Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre measures 42mm in diameter, 14.23mm thick and 50mm from lug to lug, retaining the familiar lyre-shaped lugs, partially protected crown and conical helium escape valve of the collection. Its stainless-steel surfaces combine brushed and polished finishing, while the unidirectional diving bezel features a black ceramic insert with a 60-minute scale in positive relief against a matte, grained background.

The Platinum-Gold model included exclusively in the collector set maintains the 42mm diameter while increasing slightly to 14.29mm thick, with its case crafted from Omega’s proprietary alloy composed of approximately 95% platinum and 5% gold. A polished black ceramic bezel with its diving scale executed in platinum completes the precious-metal case.

The Naiad Lock caseback incorporates a sapphire crystal revealing the automatic caliber 8806 and one of the defining elements of the Spectre editions: an oscillating weight shaped around the organization’s octopus emblem. The steel watches receive a blackened execution of the Spectre rotor,

while the Platinum-Gold model combines black and gold finishes with its emblem executed in 18k Moonshine Gold.

The steel watch supplied exclusively as part of the collector set is additionally distinguished by an applied plate at 9 o’clock displaying the unique number of the corresponding set.

The screw-down crown is partially protected by the case, while the characteristic conical helium escape valve sits at 10 o’clock. A box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the dial, complemented by the sapphire crystal incorporated into the Naiad Lock caseback. Water-resistance can reach up to 300 meters (984 feet).

The individually available Spectre edition (Ref. 210.30.42.20.01.023), together with the numbered steel version supplied in the collector set (Ref. 210.30.42.20.01.029), features a black aluminum dial with a grained finish. Unlike the more overtly themed James Bond counterpart, the Spectre identity remains deliberately restrained from the front, with the familiar openworked Seamaster hands and hour markers maintaining the recognizable layout of the no-date Seamaster Diver 300M.

The Platinum-Gold Spectre model (Ref. 210.83.42.20.01.001) takes a considerably more elaborate approach. Its dial is crafted from solid 18k white gold and engraved with a guilloché pattern inspired by the tentacles of the Spectre octopus emblem. A gradient PVD treatment transitions from grey toward black across the dial, creating additional depth while maintaining the dark aesthetic of the steel edition. The polished black ceramic bezel and platinum diving scale complete the monochromatic appearance.

White Super-LumiNova is applied generously to the hour markers and openworked hands of the steel Spectre edition, maintaining the visibility expected from a professional diving watch.

The contrast between the luminous indications and grained black dial emphasizes functionality, while the Platinum-Gold model uses its engraved white gold surface and gradient finish to introduce a more decorative interpretation of the same Spectre theme.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre Collection

The “Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Spectre Collection” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 8806 with a frequency of 25,200 vph, or 3.5Hz. The no-date movement comes equipped with Omega’s Co-Axial escapement, a free-sprung balance with silicon balance spring and resistance to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. Certified by both COSC and METAS as a Master Chronometer, the movement receives a Spectre-specific octopus-shaped oscillating weight, executed in blackened form on the steel watches and with 18k Moonshine Gold detailing on the Platinum-Gold model. Power reserve can last up to 55 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted on the steel Spectre watches are brushed stainless steel mesh bracelets, giving the dark dial and bezel a contrasting metallic framework while continuing the bracelet style used across recent no-date Seamaster Diver 300M models.
