Patek Philippe celebrates the Watch Art Grand Exhibition Milan 2026 with two exceptional interpretations of its World Time Minute Repeater, each featuring a Grand Feu cloisonné enamel dial depicting the Italian city. Introduced in 2017, the Ref. 5531 combines two of the manufacture’s most celebrated complications: a World Time display and a minute repeater capable of chiming the local time of the selected city. For Milan, the new white gold Ref. 5531G-012 portrays the city by day, while the Ref. 5531G-013 captures its illuminated streets at night. Limited to just five pieces each, the two editions celebrate traditional decorative craftsmanship alongside one of Patek Philippe’s most sophisticated travel complications.
The Patek Philippe World Time Minute Repeater 5531G Milano 2026 is housed in an 18k white gold case measuring 40.2mm in diameter, 11.49mm thick and 47.35mm from lug to lug, with a 21mm width between the lugs.
Its classical round architecture is complemented by distinctive openworked lugs and an intricately hand-guilloché caseband decorated with the traditional Clous de Paris hobnail pattern, which also extends to the minute repeater’s sliding activation mechanism.
Both editions are supplied with two interchangeable casebacks, one crafted from solid white gold and the other incorporating a sapphire crystal that reveals the elaborate caliber R 27 HU.
Each caseback carries the commemorative inscription “Patek Philippe Milano 2026,” identifying the watches with the exhibition. The minute repeater’s gongs are attached directly to the caseband, an architectural feature designed to improve the transmission and resonance of their sound.
The crown is accompanied by a dedicated World Time pusher positioned at 2 o’clock, allowing the wearer to advance the selected time zone in one-hour increments.
On the left side of the case, the Clous de Paris-decorated slide activates the minute repeater, which chimes the local time corresponding to the city positioned at 12 o’clock. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the case construction provides protection against humidity and dust. These watches are not rated for water resistance.
The defining feature of the two Milano editions is their Grand Feu cloisonné enamel dial centers, each depicting a detailed map-inspired interpretation of Milan. Crafted on an 18k gold plate, the miniature compositions use traditional enamel techniques to reproduce the city’s streets and architectural layout. The Ref. 5531G-012 presents Milan during the day, with a brighter palette evoking sunlit streets,
while the Ref. 5531G-013 captures the city after dark, highlighting its illuminated urban landscape.
Surrounding the enamel centerpiece is the World Time display, featuring a peripheral ring of 24 city names presented in Italian, with Milan distinguished in red. An accompanying 24-hour ring indicates the corresponding hours and day/night periods across the world’s principal time zones.
The central white gold hands retain the characteristic design of the 5531, combining an openworked hour hand inspired by the Southern Cross constellation with a distinctive lozenge-shaped minute hand.
The contrast between the intricate enamel compositions and the surrounding World Time indications creates a layered dial that balances decorative craftsmanship with practical functionality. Each miniature enamel scene introduces its own colors and atmospheric details, while the concentric city and 24-hour rings maintain the recognizable architecture of Patek Philippe’s World Time watches. The delicate finishing of the white gold hands further complements the elaborate dial decoration.

The “Patek Philippe World Time Minute Repeater Milano 2026” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber R 27 HU with 45 jewels, 452 components and a frequency of 21,600 vph, or 3Hz. Measuring 32mm in diameter and 8.5mm thick, the movement combines a World Time mechanism with a minute repeater operating on two traditional gongs. Its patented striking mechanism allows the repeater to chime the local time of the city selected at 12 o’clock, rather than remaining tied to a fixed reference time zone. The movement also features a guilloché-decorated 22k gold off-center micro-rotor for automatic winding and carries the Patek Philippe Seal. Power reserve can last between 43 and 48 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on these watches are hand-stitched grained calfskin leather straps selected to complement their respective enamel dials. The daytime Ref. 5531G-012 is paired with a light brown strap featuring contrasting cream stitching, reinforcing the warmer tones of its Milan cityscape.
The nighttime Ref. 5531G-013 receives a midnight-blue strap with red stitching, reflecting the darker colors and illuminated details of its nocturnal composition. Both watches are secured by 18k white gold fold-over clasps.
