Panerai Radiomir California PAM 931 & Radiomir 8 Days PAM 992
The historic Radiomir prototype was first conceived by Panerai, back in 1936. It was originally developed to resist extreme conditions, while preserving accurate timing; as it assisted the frogman commandos of the First Submarine Group Command, in Italy. It now resurfaces in 2020, with a dual release in yet another stylish casing and captivating design.
First up let’s take a look at the “Panerai Radiomir California” (PAM 931) comes in a 47mm case made out of patina steel; while on the flip-side is a transparent sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement.
Mounted to the case is a matching patina steel fixed bezel. Extruding from the case are the iconic Radiomir thin wire lugs, providing a secure and comfortable wrist fit. It also comes equipped with a riveted setting-crown, engraved with the Panerai logo. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a unique shaded brown dial with a mixture of Arabic and Roman numerals, plus some rectangular and a triangular mark at the 12 o’clock position. This nuanced combination of numerals and shapes is commonly referred to as the “California dial”; hence the name of this new Panerai release.
There is also a railroad motif minute ring circling around the periphery of the dial. The central blue steeled hands, plus all the numerals and index markers have been coated with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

while also featuring a transparent sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement.
What we have here is essentially the same standard Radiomir case we previously described, except for is smaller diameter. It features a similar patina steel fixed bezel and the iconic Radiomir thin wire lugs.
Plus the same riveted setting-crown, engraved with the Panerai logo. Water-resistance on this watch can also reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
