Oris returns to The Muppets for a third collaboration, following previous editions dedicated to Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. This time, The Great Gonzo takes center stage in the ProPilot X Gonzo Edition, bringing the eccentric stuntman and showman into one of Oris’s most technically ambitious watches through colorful details and a mechanical surprise hidden within the movement’s enormous mainspring.
The Oris ProPilot X Gonzo Edition (Ref. 01 115 7759 7180-Set) features a multi-piece titanium case measuring 44mm in diameter, 12.6mm thick and 52mm from lug to lug. Its angular construction and sharply faceted surfaces maintain the technical, architectural appearance of the ProPilot X Calibre 115, while the lightweight titanium construction helps offset the substantial dimensions of the skeletonized watch.
Around the back, a sapphire crystal incorporated into the titanium caseback provides another view of the in-house Calibre 115 and its openworked construction. Together with the extensively skeletonized dial side, the transparent caseback exposes much of the movement’s architecture and emphasizes the mechanical character that distinguishes this Gonzo collaboration from Oris’s previous Muppets-themed watches.
The titanium screw-in crown provides winding and time-setting control for the manually wound Calibre 115, including the lengthy winding process required to replenish its ten-day power reserve. A domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating protects the openworked dial and movement. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).
The skeletonized dial transforms the technical architecture of the ProPilot X with colors inspired by Gonzo himself, moving through blue, red and yellow tones that reference the character’s appearance and flamboyant wardrobe. Surrounding the exposed movement is a laser-textured chapter ring that shifts in appearance according to the light, at times presenting a metallic surface and at others revealing a multicolored, rainbow-like effect.

At 3 o’clock, the Calibre 115’s characteristic non-linear power-reserve display receives one of the collaboration’s most playful modifications. Its conventional indicator is replaced by a chilli pepper-shaped hand inspired by Gonzo’s clothing, while the ten-day scale measures the remaining autonomy in “GREAT” days.

The large open barrel at 12 o’clock provides an even more unusual tribute: tiny markings are laser-etched along the edge of the movement’s approximately 1.8-meter-long mainspring.

As the movement is fully wound and the spring coils tighten together, these separate markings align to reveal Gonzo’s smiling face. The image gradually disappears again as the mainspring unwinds and its coils move apart.

Super-LumiNova fills the hour and minute hands and hour markers, maintaining low-light visibility despite the complexity of the skeletonized display. Combined with the changing colors of the chapter ring, Gonzo-inspired power-reserve indicator and mechanically generated image inside the barrel, the luminous elements contribute to a dial that remains functional while embracing the deliberately unconventional character of the collaboration.

Oris ProPilot X Gonzo Edition
The “Oris ProPilot X Gonzo Edition” (Ref#: 01 115 7759 7180-Set) is powered by the in-house manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 115 operating at 21,600 vph. It comes equipped with a skeletonized construction, large open barrel containing an approximately 1.8-meter mainspring, hours, minutes, small seconds, non-linear power-reserve indication, fine timing device and stop-seconds mechanism. Power reserve can last up to 240 hours, or 10 days, when fully wound.

Mounted on this watch is a multi-piece titanium bracelet that continues the angular construction and lightweight character of the ProPilot X case.

Its integrated appearance creates a continuous transition from the faceted case onto the wrist, while an Oris-developed folding clasp secures the bracelet and maintains the predominantly titanium construction of the watch.
