Oris continues refining its aviation-inspired ProPilot collection with an updated version of the ProPilot Calibre 111, bringing revised proportions and redesigned dials to one of the brand’s most distinctive mechanical watches. Following the recent refresh of the ProPilot Date series, the new Calibre 111 introduces a slightly smaller 43mm stainless-steel case, textured dials in black or pine green, and a relocated date display. At its heart remains the manually wound manufacture caliber 111, featuring an impressive 10-day power reserve and a non-linear power reserve indicator. Available with either a stainless-steel bracelet or Cordovan leather strap, the refreshed collection includes four references.
The Oris ProPilot Calibre 111 is housed in a stainless-steel case measuring 43mm in diameter, 13.2mm thick and 51mm from lug to lug. The updated dimensions reduce the case diameter by 1mm compared with the previous generation, while retaining the collection’s recognizable aviation-inspired architecture. Its distinctive bezel features angled fluting inspired by aircraft turbines, creating a textured appearance that complements the robust construction of the ProPilot collection.

A screwed stainless-steel caseback incorporates a sapphire crystal window, providing a view of the manually wound manufacture caliber 111.

The transparent construction allows the movement to remain visible, including the mechanical architecture responsible for its extended 10-day power reserve.

The oversized screw-down crown retains the characteristic design of the ProPilot collection, providing a substantial grip for winding and setting the manually operated movement. A domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface protects the dial, complemented by the sapphire display window on the caseback. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).

The updated Oris ProPilot Calibre 111 is available with either a black or pine green dial, both incorporating the redesigned surface treatments recently introduced to the ProPilot Date collection. A vertically brushed central section contrasts with a more organic textured finish extending around the dial’s perimeter, creating a layered appearance while preserving the functional character of the aviation-inspired design.

Applied Arabic numerals surround the central hour and minute hands, while the remaining displays are distributed across the dial. A small seconds subdial occupies the 9 o’clock position, balanced by the distinctive non-linear power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock.

The date display has been relocated to 6 o’clock, creating a more symmetrical arrangement than the earlier ProPilot Calibre 111 models. The power reserve scale is designed to provide a clearer indication of the movement’s remaining energy during its final days of operation.

Luminous material is applied to the hands and hour indices, maintaining visibility in low-light conditions. The combination of applied numerals, contrasting surface textures and luminous indications reinforces the instrument-inspired character of the ProPilot collection, while the redesigned finishes give both dial variations a more contemporary appearance.

Oris ProPilot Calibre 111
The “Oris ProPilot Calibre 111” (References below) is powered by the in-house manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 111, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph, or 4Hz. Introduced in 2015, the movement builds upon the manufacture caliber 110, which marked Oris’ return to in-house movement production after approximately 35 years. Its construction incorporates a single oversized mainspring measuring approximately 1.8 meters in length, supplying energy to the movement while a non-linear power reserve indicator displays the remaining running time. The caliber comes equipped with central hours and minutes, small seconds, a date display and the distinctive 10-day power reserve indication. Power reserve can last up to 240 hours, or 10 days, when fully wound.

Mounted on these watches are either multi-piece stainless steel bracelets or dark brown Cordovan leather straps, both designed to complement the updated ProPilot case.

The stainless-steel bracelet is secured by Oris’ distinctive folding LIFT clasp, inspired by aircraft seat-belt mechanisms, while the Cordovan leather strap features a seamless-fit adjustment system and a stainless steel folding LIFT clasp. Both configurations accommodate the watch’s 20mm lug width.
