Jaeger-LeCoultre expands its elegant Master Ultra Thin collection with a new pink gold interpretation of the Master Ultra Thin Moon, bringing one of the manufacture’s most recognizable dress watches into a more compact 36mm format. Previously offered predominantly in 39mm cases, the moon-phase and date model recently returned in a smaller stainless steel version, and now receives the same refined proportions in 18k pink gold. Featuring a silver sunray-brushed dial, classical Dauphine hands and the in-house caliber 925 with a 70-hour power reserve, the new Master Ultra Thin Moon 36mm (Ref. Q1242521) combines traditional watchmaking aesthetics with contemporary mechanical performance.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon 36mm is housed in an entirely polished 18k pink gold case measuring 36mm in diameter and 9.3mm thick. Its classical round architecture features a smooth, polished bezel and elegantly curved lugs, preserving the understated design associated with the Master Ultra Thin collection. The reduced diameter gives the watch more traditional dress-watch proportions while retaining the recognizable silhouette of its larger 39mm counterparts.
A sapphire crystal caseback, secured by screws, provides a view of the automatic caliber 925 and its refined movement finishing. Visible decorative elements include Côtes de Genève, beveled bridges and blued screws, complemented by an openworked 22k pink gold oscillating weight bearing the Jaeger-LeCoultre logo. The transparent construction allows the movement’s traditional finishing to become part of the watch’s overall presentation.
The crown is positioned at 3 o’clock, providing access to winding and time-setting functions while maintaining the case’s clean, symmetrical profile. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial, complemented by the sapphire display back. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).
The Master Ultra Thin Moon 36mm features a silver-colored dial with a delicate sunray-brushed finish, creating a subtle play of light across its surface. Applied, faceted trapezoidal hour markers in a gold-colored finish complement the warmth of the pink gold case, while a pearl-like minute track follows the dial’s perimeter.
Brushed and polished Dauphine hands complete the classical appearance, reinforcing the watch’s restrained dress-watch character.
At 6 o’clock, a combined moon-phase and date display provides the watch’s signature complication. The moon-phase aperture is accompanied by a pointer-date indication, with a dedicated hand tracking the date around the subdial. Because the caliber 925 is housed in a smaller 36mm case, the combined display sits closer to the lower edge of the dial than on the 39mm version, eliminating the need for a separate hour marker at 6 o’clock.
The contrast between the sunray-brushed silver surface and the faceted gold-colored indications creates a refined sense of depth without introducing unnecessary visual complexity. The carefully finished Dauphine hands and applied markers catch the light from different angles, while the moon-phase display adds a decorative element to an otherwise minimalist dial.

The “Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon 36mm” (Ref. Q1242521) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 925 with 30 jewels, 245 components and a frequency of 28,800 vph, or 4Hz. Measuring just 4.9mm thick, the movement comes equipped with central hours, minutes and seconds, a pointer-date display and a moon-phase complication positioned at 6 o’clock. Its single-barrel construction is complemented by an openworked 22k pink gold oscillating weight, while the movement features traditional finishing including Côtes de Genève, beveled bridges and blued screws. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a black alligator leather strap that provides a classic contrast against the warm tones of the polished pink gold case and silver dial. The strap incorporates quick-release spring bars, allowing it to be exchanged without tools, and is secured by an interchangeable 18k pink gold pin buckle.
