Bell & Ross continues exploring unconventional time displays with the new BR-03 Space Mission, a limited edition inspired by space exploration and the relationship between Earth, the Moon and Mars. Following the BR-03 Astro introduced in 2025, the latest creation replaces traditional hands with a rotating disc and a spacecraft-shaped minute indicator, transforming the dial into a miniature celestial scene. Featuring a black aventurine background, a spacecraft inspired by Dassault Aviation’s Vortex concept and a distinctive orbital time display, the BR-03 Space Mission (Ref. BR03A-SPM-CE/SRB) is housed in a 41mm black ceramic case and limited to 999 pieces worldwide.
The Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission is housed in a micro-blasted black ceramic case measuring 41mm in diameter and 10.6mm thick. Its distinctive square architecture retains the instrument-inspired design associated with the BR-03 collection, while the matte black ceramic construction provides a subdued exterior that complements the watch’s space-themed dial. The case’s angular profile and exposed corner screws preserve the recognizable appearance of Bell & Ross’ aviation-inspired watches.

The caseback completes the ceramic construction, maintaining the watch’s technical character and understated black appearance. Its restrained design keeps the focus on the elaborate dial and unconventional time display, which serve as the defining elements of this limited edition.

The crown is positioned on the right side of the case, providing access to winding and time-setting functions. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial, allowing an unobstructed view of the moving celestial elements and black aventurine background. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).

The defining feature of the BR-03 Space Mission is its unconventional dial, designed to represent a miniature scene of space exploration. A black aventurine plate provides the background, with its naturally shimmering inclusions resembling distant stars. Against this celestial setting,

Earth and the Moon appear on a transparent rotating disc, while a small red dot represents Mars. Completing the composition is a spacecraft inspired by the Vortex, a reusable spaceplane concept developed by Dassault Aviation.

Rather than using conventional hour and minute hands, the watch incorporates two moving elements to display the time. The transparent disc carrying Earth and the Moon rotates around the dial, with the Moon serving as the hour indicator. Meanwhile, the spacecraft travels around the dial to indicate the minutes, using its nose as the reference point. This arrangement preserves the functionality of a traditional two-hand display while presenting the passage of time through a continuously changing orbital scene.

The transparent construction of the rotating disc allows the aventurine background to remain visible beneath the celestial illustrations, creating an impression of depth across the dial. As the Moon and spacecraft advance, their changing positions continually alter the composition, while the contrasting colors of Earth, Mars and the spacecraft distinguish the individual elements against the dark background.
Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission
The “Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission” (Ref. BR03A-SPM-CE/SRB) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber BR-CAL.325, based on the Sellita SW330 architecture and operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph, or 4Hz. The automatic movement has been adapted to accommodate the watch’s unconventional time display, replacing traditional hands with a transparent rotating hour disc and a spacecraft-shaped minute indicator. The Moon indicates the hours, while the nose of the spacecraft marks the minutes as it travels around the dial. Power reserve can last up to 54 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted on this watch is a black rubber strap that complements the micro-blasted ceramic case and provides a comfortable, sporty fit.

An additional ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric strap is also included, offering an alternative configuration. Both straps are secured by a steel pin buckle featuring a micro-blasted matte black PVD finish, maintaining the watch’s predominantly black appearance.

The Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission (Ref. BR03A-SPM-CE/SRB) is limited to 999 pieces worldwide.
