Chopard L.U.C XP II Sarton Kiton
The ultra-thin gentleman’s watch by Chopard is back in full sartorial fashion with elegant and mysterious overtones. This collaboration with the Italian tailoring Kiton brand has lead to a truly fashionable timepiece. The new limited edition “Chopard L.U.C XP II Sarton Kiton” is an artful example of how to pull off a unique and memorable look, without being flashy or overbearing. It is a fine tightrope act that this black, gold, and red tapestry has tasteful accomplished.
The 40mm case is made of a dark DLC-coated steel with a bead-blasted finish. This is an extra-flat case measuring in at just 7.2mm. The steel finish has a fine frosted surface that’s been coated with the aforementioned black diamond-like carbon (DLC), which shifts its black hue more towards a dark grey finish.
On the flip-side we encounter a sapphire exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. The caliber on this timepiece appears darkened due to the tinted glass, except for a few visible purple jewels and rose gold parts. 
It is wound by a tungsten micro-rotor and features Côtes de Genève finishes on the movement bridges. All topped by a glare-proof sapphire crystal with a water-resistance that can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet). 
Time is exhibited on a black and grey dial with a subtle houndstooth pattern printing inspired by Kiton fabrics.
Further embellished by gilded rose gold hour index markers and the 3, 6, 9, and 12 Arabic numerals, followed by smaller rose gold toned minute markings circling around the periphery. 
It also includes specks of red in the form of double-digit numerals that highlight the quarter-hour indications, plus a a red dot that recalls the Kiton logo on the lower-half of the dial, aligned with the 6 o’clock position. Lastly to draw us back to the center are the elegantly crafted rose gold gilded dauphine fusée style hands.
Chopard L.U.C XP II Sarton Kiton
The “Chopard L.U.C XP II Sarton Kiton” (Ref#: 168592-3003) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber L.U.C 96.53-L with 27 jewels and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with the patented Chopard “Twin technology” system that combines two co-axial barrels, which is a particularly remarkable feat given the movement’s extreme thinness at just 3.3 mm thick. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 58 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted to the watch is a Kiton fabric strap made by a mix of Mongolian cashmere, wool, flannel, and elastane, with exposed grey and red stitchings and red alligator leather lining; while secure to the wrist by a DLC-coated steel buckle.
