Breguet Tradition 7047 Tourbillon Waltz
This new Breguet at first glance shares a great resemblance with the recently launched “Tradition Quantième Rétrograde 7597”, but beyond the color scheme, they’re quite distinct. For this “Tradition 7047 Tourbillon Waltz” the complications and off-set layout have all been thought out in different directions. The 41mm case is finely made of 950 platinum with brushed and polished accents. Mounted to the case is a concave bezel with a polished finish, while the casebands are adorned by Breguet’s signature fluted texture. On the flip-side a transparent sapphire exhibition case back allows to further delight our gaze upon the inner movement and its workings. This hand-wound movement features the fusée-chain constant force transmission which ensures (as the name implies) a constant driving force in the movement to keep it stable and lose less amplitude. The soldered lugs are secured by screw bars and tilted to comfortably accommodate a secure wrist fit. It also comes equipped with a fluted setting-crown embossed with the Breguet “B” logo. All topped by an ultra-domed sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (98 feet).Time is exhibited on an off-centered blue dial made in hand-guilloché gold with white Roman numerals and a ring of dotted minute markers circling around. The silver-colored Breguet hands feature opened tips, which seem like a nuanced version of the lollipop hand. This off-set dial is exquisitely adorned with hand-crafted engine-turned Clou de Paris hobnailing in the characteristic guilloché pattern. Just like the tourbillon element, the dial is secured by three exposed screws. The time portion dial has been aligned at the 7 o'clock position, while the same space is used for the tourbillon placed diagonal from it, at the 2 o’clock spot. The tourbillon is further highlighted by the blued tourbillon cage and chain, seen grinding away underneath in its own sub section. Achieving this hue was a challenge that required the tourbillon carriage being covered with blue coatings, while the chain links were thermally blued.
