Audemars Piguet expands its Code 11.59 collection with two new Selfwinding 38mm models featuring natural stone dials and precious-metal cases. Continuing the manufacture’s exploration of decorative materials, the latest additions include an 18k yellow gold edition with a shimmering gold obsidian dial and an 18k pink gold version combining mirror-polished black onyx with baguette-cut diamond hour markers. Both watches retain the contemporary architecture of the Code 11.59 collection while adopting a minimalist, time-only display powered by the automatic caliber 5909, allowing the natural characteristics of their respective stone dials to take center stage.
The Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding models are housed in 18k gold cases measuring 38mm in diameter and 9.6mm thick. The gold obsidian edition features an 18k yellow gold case,
while the black onyx version is crafted from 18k pink gold. Both retain the collection’s distinctive construction, combining a round bezel and caseback with an octagonal middle case and openworked lugs. Alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces highlight the architectural complexity of the design, while the compact proportions provide a more traditional dress-watch appearance.
A sapphire crystal caseback provides a view of the automatic caliber 5909 and its decorative finishing. Developed specifically for Audemars Piguet, the movement features refined industrial finishing and an oscillating weight visible through the transparent back.
The case construction preserves the collection’s characteristic combination of contemporary geometry and traditional mechanical watchmaking.
The crown is positioned at 3 o’clock, providing access to winding and time-setting functions while maintaining the case’s clean profile. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, allowing the distinctive textures of the natural stone surfaces to remain clearly visible. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
The yellow gold Code 11.59 Selfwinding features a natural gold obsidian dial decorated with a sunray motif. Formed from volcanic glass, the material displays shimmering golden inclusions against a dark background, creating a textured appearance that changes with the angle of light. Faceted yellow gold hour markers and a peripheral 60-minute scale complement the case, while the dark dial flange incorporates additional gold-colored specks that extend the decorative theme beyond the central dial.
The pink gold edition adopts a contrasting approach with a natural black onyx dial featuring a smooth, mirror-polished surface. Its deep, uniform black finish provides a striking backdrop for baguette-cut diamond hour markers, introducing a more formal interpretation of the collection’s minimalist design. Both models display central hours, minutes and seconds without a date aperture, preserving the uninterrupted appearance of their respective stone dials.
The contrast between the two dial treatments highlights the different visual qualities of natural stone. The obsidian edition emphasizes texture and shimmering mineral inclusions, complemented by the warm tones of yellow gold.
Meanwhile, the polished onyx dial creates a reflective black surface that accentuates the brilliance of its diamond markers. Neither model relies on elaborate complications or additional indications, allowing the materials and finishing to define their individual character.

The “Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding 38mm” (References below) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 5909, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph, or 4Hz. Produced by Vaucher to Audemars Piguet’s specifications, the movement is a time-only adaptation of the caliber 5900, eliminating the date complication to provide central hours, minutes and seconds. Its automatic winding mechanism and decorative finishing are visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. Power reserve can last up to 60 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on these watches are black alligator leather straps selected to complement their respective precious-metal cases and dark stone dials. The yellow gold edition features a black strap with subtle gold-colored specks, secured by an 18k yellow gold pin buckle. The pink gold version is paired with a classic black alligator leather strap and an 18k pink gold pin buckle, maintaining its more restrained and formal appearance.
