A. Lange & Söhne celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Datograph Perpetual with a new limited edition that marks the return of one of the manufacturer's most sought-after accessories: the full-platinum bracelet. Originally produced in collaboration with German jeweler Wellendorff, precious-metal bracelets were once available on select Lange watches, including the first-generation Datograph, before becoming highly collectible rarities. The new Datograph Perpetual (Ref. 410.136E) revisits this tradition with an entirely redesigned five-row platinum bracelet, complemented by a glossy black dial featuring baguette-cut diamond hour markers. Combining a hand-wound flyback chronograph with a perpetual calendar, this exclusive edition is limited to just 50 pieces worldwide.
The A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Limited Edition is housed in a 950 platinum case measuring 41mm in diameter and 13.5mm thick. Its classical round architecture retains the familiar proportions of the Datograph Perpetual collection, with a polished bezel, elegantly curved lugs and a combination of brushed and polished surfaces. The substantial platinum construction complements the newly developed bracelet, creating a distinctive precious-metal interpretation of one of the manufacture’s most technically accomplished chronographs.

A sapphire crystal caseback provides an unobstructed view of the hand-wound manufacture caliber L952.1 and its elaborate mechanical construction. The movement features untreated German silver plates and bridges decorated with Glashütte ribbing, polished bevels, blued screws and finely finished steel components. Its layered architecture reveals the intricate arrangement of the chronograph mechanism, including the traditional column wheel and horizontal clutch, highlighting the craftsmanship associated with A. Lange & Söhne.

The crown is positioned at 3 o’clock, accompanied by chronograph pushers for starting, stopping and resetting the flyback chronograph. Additional correctors integrated into the case allow the perpetual calendar indications to be adjusted when necessary. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, complemented by the transparent sapphire caseback. The watch is designed to resist occasional splashes, although a specific water-resistance depth has not been provided.

The Datograph Perpetual Limited Edition features a solid silver dial with a glossy black finish, complemented by contrasting rhodium-plated subsidiary counters. Its most distinctive decorative elements are 11 baguette-cut diamonds, totaling approximately 0.13 carats, serving as hour markers. Two diamonds mark the 12 o’clock position, while the markers at 4 and 8 o’clock are omitted to accommodate the chronograph and calendar displays. The combination of polished platinum, black lacquer-like surfaces and diamond accents creates a refined interpretation of the Datograph’s familiar design.

The dial retains the characteristic arrangement of the Datograph Perpetual, with the outsize date positioned beneath 12 o’clock and two prominent subsidiary counters at 3 and 9 o’clock. The right-hand counter incorporates the 30-minute chronograph totalizer, month and leap-year indications, while the left-hand counter displays running seconds, the day of the week and a day/night indicator. Additional indications include the moon phase and a peripheral tachymeter scale, allowing the watch to combine chronograph functionality with a complete perpetual calendar.

The central hour and minute hands are crafted from 18k white gold, while the central chronograph seconds hand features a rhodium-plated steel finish. Blued steel hands distinguish the subsidiary chronograph indications, providing visual contrast against the rhodium-plated counters. The polished hands and diamond hour markers reflect light against the glossy black dial, maintaining legibility while emphasizing the elaborate finishing and complex display.
A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual
The “A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual” (Ref. 410.136E) is powered by the in-house manually wound mechanical movement, caliber L952.1 with 45 jewels, 556 components and a frequency of 18,000 vph, or 2.5Hz. Measuring 32mm in diameter and 8mm thick, the movement combines a traditional column-wheel chronograph with a horizontal clutch and flyback function, alongside a perpetual calendar incorporating an outsize date, weekday, month, leap-year, day/night and moon-phase indications. The movement also features a balance with eccentric poising weights and an in-house hairspring, complemented by traditional German silver bridges, Glashütte ribbing and hand-finished components. Power reserve can last up to 36 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted on this watch is an entirely new five-row bracelet crafted from 950 platinum, marking the return of a precious-metal bracelet to the Datograph collection. Unlike the earlier Wellendorff-produced bracelets, the new construction features alternating brushed and polished links with subtly different shapes across the inner and outer rows. Pronounced polished chamfers along the lateral surfaces create additional contrast, while a folding clasp crafted from 950 platinum is engraved with the Lange name. The bracelet provides a fully integrated precious-metal appearance that distinguishes this edition from traditional leather-strap Datograph Perpetual models.
