Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Pink Gold Collection Chronograph Models
In celebration of its fifth anniversary, Audemars Piguet has unveiled seven new variations of the Code 11.59 in pink gold, offered in both 38mm sizes (which we recently reviewed) and a 41mm version that also includes a chronograph option. Although the components themselves are not new (the latest models blend successful features from recent releases), the Code 11.59, often seen as an entry point to the brand's most coveted models like the Royal Oak, has steadily grown into a comprehensive collection. It now encompasses a range from straightforward time-only watches to the most elaborate grand complications. These new models showcase the refreshed Code 11.59 design, introduced last year with stainless steel versions, which featured updated hands and stamped guilloché dials in popular colors. The new chronograph models within the Code 11.59 collection are only available in a 41mm case made of 18k pink gold (unlike the time-and-date models that can also be had in a smaller 38mm diameter) with a thickness of 12.6mm. All these cases have been crafted with a mixture of vertically brushed surfaces and polished bevels finish.Only the black dial option differs by featuring a ceramic middle case.On the flipside is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features an 18k pink gold oscillating weight with a carved out AP logo in its midst. In common all options come equipped with a setting-crown embossed with the AP logo, which features modifications to the crown's shape. Plus two pink gold rectangular pushers to operate the chronograph functions. All topped by a double curved sapphire crystal. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).Time is exhibited on either a black, “bleu nuit, Nuage 50” (this celebrated AP color which was first introduced with the inaugural Royal Oak in 1972.) or dark green dial, all with 18k pink gold applied indices, followed by a white printed minute track ring with Arabic numerals appearing alongside a sloped flange. It features three snailed sub-dials with gold hands and circular framing: a 12-hour counter at 3 o’clock, a sub-seconds at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position. These dials are enhanced with either PVD-coated or galvanic-treated finishes, featuring the newly introduced stamped dial and ripple pattern for added texture. Additionally, the elongated, flattened, faceted, and polished hour markers contribute a discreet elegance. The 18k pink gold central hour/minute hands and index markers have all been fitted with a luminescent filling for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date window placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock spots.
