Zenith Pilot Type 20 Rescue
At this years LVMH Watch week (Moët Hennesy-Louis Vuitton) we were introduced to two new versions of the Zenith Pilot Type 20 collection. These are variations on their very popular vintage-influenced aviation timepieces, which include a chronograph and time-only models.
Both versions come in a 45mm case made of stainless-steel, while on the flip-side we find a case back engraved with the iconic Zenith flying instruments logo.
It comes equipped with a big onion-style setting-crown, which is reminiscent of the ratcheted winding crowns seen on vintage aviation watches made for military pilots back in the 20th century.
Plus the chronograph version includes two rectangular pusher with riveted tops to operate their auxiliary functions. All topped by domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Both versions exhibit time on a slate-grey-toned sunray-patterned dial with large stencil style Arabic numerals, while a ring of small white printed minute index markers with double-digit orange numerals for every five-minute increment can be seen on the inner flange.
It features the Zenith star and the inscription “MONTRE D’AERONEF” on the upper-half of the dial; while “PILOT” and “EXTRA SPECIAL” in an orange font can be seen on the lower-half.
The central rhodium-plated hands and numerals have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. The chronograph version also includes two sub-dials: a 30-minute counter and a sub-seconds.
Zenith Pilot Type 20 Rescue
The “Zenith Pilot Type 20 Rescue” (Ref#: 03.2434.679/20.I010) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber Elite 679 with 26 jewels, 126 components and 28,800 Vph. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 50 hours, when fully wound.

Zenith Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Rescue
The “Zenith Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Rescue” (Ref#:03.2434.4069/20.I010) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber El Primero 4069 with 31 jewels, 256 components and 36,000 Vph. It comes equipped with chronograph function and column wheel. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 50 hours, when fully wound.
