Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton

Zenith introduces the Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton, a bold evolution of its high-beat sports chronograph. Combining architectural aesthetics with cutting-edge mechanics, this new release builds upon the Defy Skyline Chronograph’s contemporary design by unveiling a skeletonized dial that reveals the intricacies of its El Primero movement. Available in striking black or blue tones, this sophisticated timepiece highlights Zenith’s expertise in blending innovative watchmaking with modern elegance.

The Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton features a bold 42mm stainless steel case, continuing the collection’s hallmark angular design. With a 12-sided dodecagonal bezel sitting atop the brushed and polished octagonal mid-case, it retains the architectural flair that defines the Defy series. The watch measures 12.7mm in thickness, ensuring wearability despite its striking presence. Turn the watch over, and you’ll find a sapphire crystal caseback, secured by four hexagonal screws. This transparent caseback offers a full view of the skeletonized El Primero 3600SK movement, showcasing the intricate mechanics and contemporary architecture of the movement. The engraved Zenith star logo on the rotor adds a touch of heritage to the modern design. It comes equipped with a screw-down crown, flanked by angular pushers, enhancing both functionality and the case’s integrated aesthetic. All topped with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the case is engineered for durability and performance. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).
This new Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton presents a captivating skeletonized dial, showcasing the inner mechanics of the El Primero 3600SK movement. The dial adopts the same geometric, openworked aesthetic as seen in previous Defy models, inspired by Zenith’s historic double-Z logo. This intricate design is available in either black or blue tones, with contrasting grey azuré sub-dials adding depth and legibility. The openwork design is enhanced by the overlapping chronograph sub-dials at 3 and 6 o’clock and the small seconds at 9 o’clock, creating a balanced and functional display. Despite the complexity of the design, the watch maintains a high level of readability.Completing the dynamic dial layout, the absence of a date window ensures an uninterrupted view of the movement and keeps the display focused on its chronograph functions. The vibrant color contrasts and luminous elements reinforce the watch’s sporty and modern character, while the visible movement creates a sense of transparency and technical excellence. The hour markers and hands, crafted from rhodium-plated metal, are faceted and coated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1, ensuring excellent legibility in low-light conditions.
