Zenith Chronomaster Sport iN Titanium
In 2021, Zenith made waves among enthusiasts with the launch of its Chronomaster Sport collection, garnering significant attention and admiration. Setting itself apart from previous models, this series introduced several notable features. Notably, the bezel was redesigned to measure time in 1/10th of a second, a departure from the conventional tachymeter scale often seen on chronographs. After releasing multiple variants in steel, featuring ceramic or metal bezels, as well as options in precious metals, Zenith is now taking this sports chronograph to new heights of boldness, technical prowess, and lightweight design with the latest addition, the Zenith Chronomaster Sport Titanium, characterized by its highly monochromatic aesthetic. The titanium case, sized at 41mm, boasts a sleek vertical brushed finish and stands at a slender 13.60mm in height, a departure from its bulkier predecessors. Its fixed bezel, featuring a polished contrast, hosts the 1/10th of a second chronograph function, with elapsed time measured over 10 seconds. On the flipside is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It showcases a few purple jewels, blued screws, golden gears, and the star-shaped custom rotor with a satined finish. It comes equipped with two mushroom-style push-pieces to operate the chronograph functions. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a nickel-gray with a sunray-pattern, and applied rhodium-plated hour index markers, followed by a black printed minutes/seconds track ring. It features the characteristic tricolor sub-dials with snailed interiors: a 60-second register at 3 o’clock in dark gray; a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock in light-gray; and a sub-seconds at the 9 o’clock position in white. The rhodium-plated baton-style central hands, hour index markers, and sub-dial have all been fitted with a Super-LumiNova, plus the thin chronograph hand and two counters feature a red tip, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions in a matching nickel-gray hue to blend in with its background.
