Zenith Chronomaster Sport iN Metallic Blue
Back in 2021, Zenith launched their “Chronomaster Sport” line in a black or white dial option. As the brand states this collection represents “an exceptional fusion of intriguing complications and contemporary design, CHRONOMASTER SPORT inspires you to push your boundaries and make your vision a reality”. Its latest release drew inspiration from the iconic "DeLuca" and "Rainbow" references of the 1980s and 1990s. The new “Zenith Chronomaster Sport“ comes with a metallic blue dial that “resembles the vast night sky filled with dreams and possibilities”.The 41mm case is made of stainless-steel with an overall vertically brushed finish and measures in at a height of 13.60mm, which is a rather slim profile compared to previous iterations. Mounted by a fixed steel bezel with a contrasting polish finish, while the 1/10th of a second chronograph function has the elapsed time graduated over 10 seconds on the bezel. On the flipside is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It showcases a few purple jewels, blued screws, golden gears, and the star-shaped custom rotor with a satined finish. It comes equipped with two mushroom-style push-pieces to operate the chronograph functions. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a metallic blue dial with a sunray-pattern, and applied rhodium-plated hour index markers, followed by a white printed minutes/seconds track ring. It features the characteristic tricolor sub-dials with snailed interiors: a 60-second register at 3 o’clock in dark blue; a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock in dark gray; and a sub-seconds at the 9 o’clock position in light-gray. The rhodium-plated baton-style central hands, hour index markers, and sub-dial have all been fitted with a Super-LumiNova, plus the thin chronograph hand features a red tip, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions in a matching blue hue to blend in with its background and white numerals.
