The Chronomaster Revival collection continues Zenith’s celebration of one of the most important chapters in modern watchmaking history. First introduced in 1969 alongside the legendary El Primero movement, the original A384 helped establish the brand’s reputation for high-frequency automatic chronographs while standing apart with its distinctive tonneau-shaped case. For 2026, Zenith revisits this icon with the new Chronomaster Revival A384 Tropical, a faithful recreation that introduces a warm “chocolate panda” dial inspired by naturally aged tropical dials admired by collectors.
The Zenith Chronomaster Revival A384 Tropical is housed in a stainless-steel tonneau-shaped case measuring 37mm in diameter. Faithful to the proportions of the original 1969 reference, the case combines vertically brushed surfaces with polished bevels that accentuate its angular architecture. Although compact by modern standards, the distinctive shape gives the watch a strong wrist presence while maintaining excellent wearability.

Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback offering an unobstructed view of the legendary El Primero 400 movement. The exhibition caseback highlights the integrated chronograph architecture and allows enthusiasts to appreciate one of the industry’s most celebrated high-frequency calibres in action.

The case is fitted with classic pump-style chronograph pushers that preserve the authentic vintage aesthetic while delivering crisp operation. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, maintaining excellent scratch resistance without compromising the watch’s retro-inspired appearance. Water-resistance can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).

The defining feature of this edition is its tropical-inspired “chocolate panda” dial. Drawing inspiration from vintage dials that naturally developed warm brown tones after decades of exposure to sunlight, Zenith recreates this sought-after aesthetic in a carefully controlled modern execution.

The bright lacquered base contrasts beautifully with the rich brown chronograph registers and matching tachymeter scale, creating a harmonious and highly collectible appearance.

Applied hour markers, faceted hands, and the balanced tri-compax chronograph layout remain faithful to the original A384 design. The central chronograph seconds hand introduces a vivid red accent that injects a welcome sense of energy into the otherwise vintage-inspired display, while maintaining excellent legibility across all functions.

The hour markers and hands are filled with faux-aged Super-LumiNova that recreates the appearance of vintage radium while providing modern nighttime visibility. The warm luminous tone complements the chocolate-coloured sub-dials and reinforces the nostalgic character without sacrificing everyday practicality
