The Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self-Winding elegantly blends the brand’s rich heritage with contemporary design. Inspired by the original 1956 model, this timepiece features a modern 40mm case crafted in 18K 5N rose gold, now paired with a striking black sector dial for the first time. This latest edition underscores Vacheron Constantin’s commitment to exquisite craftsmanship, offering a perfect balance of vintage charm and modern sophistication, making it a versatile and stylish companion for any occasion.The 40mm case is crafted from 18K 5N rose gold, which exudes a warm, luxurious glow. The case is slightly asymmetric, with the crown recessed into the right side, subtly drawing attention away from the distinctive lugs inspired by the brand’s Maltese cross logo. At just 9.6mm thick and with a lug-to-lug span of 48mm, this model maintains a sleek, elegant profile that sits comfortably on the wrist.
On the flipside is an exhibition caseback that provides a clear view of the finely finished movement within. The sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant, ensuring that the intricate details of the movement, such as the Geneva stripes and the 22K gold rotor, are on full display for the wearer to appreciate.
It comes equipped with a knurled setting-crown, embossed by the iconic Maltese cross. All topped by a box-type sapphire crystal over the dial, adding to its vintage charm while maintaining modern durability. Water resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
Time is exhibited on a black opaline dial with a striking combination of sunburst finishes, offering a refined and sophisticated look. This sector-style dial is divided into distinct sections by a railroad track on the outer edge and a white track closer to the center, creating a visually dynamic layout that plays beautifully with light.
The combination of the black dial and rose gold elements gives this Fiftysix model a tuxedo-like appearance, making it a perfect companion for both formal and casual settings. It features applied rose gold Arabic numerals and baton indexes, also in 18K 5N rose gold, add a touch of elegance and contrast against the dark backdrop. The “Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self-Winding” (Ref#: 4600E/000R-H101) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement caliber 1326 with 25 jewels, 142 parts and 28,800 Vph. Introduced in 2018, it is based on the Cartier 1904 architecture and is produced by Richemont’s Manufacture Horlogère ValFleurier, with finishing, assembly, and regulation handled by Vacheron Constantin. Power reserve can last up to 48 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is an anthracite nubuck calf leather strap with exposed contrasting stitchings,
while secured to the wrist by a rose gold pin buckle.
