We’ve all heard about events themed as “ladies night” and we recently celebrated “Woman’s Day”, but our love for these humans beings transcends these finite time constraints. So what better way to truly celebrate this feeling than with a gift built to always be ticking. Vacheron Constantin had that precise thought in mind when they conceived their latest “Égérie” collection of women’s watches.
The term “Égérie” is French for “muse”, but also brings to mind the term “égalité” which translates to “equality”. Two words that summon up both what women worldwide deserve and offer mankind: equal rights and creative inspiration.
These new timepieces com in a wide array of options all concealed in a round case, which can be had in various sizes made out of either: stainless-steel, 18k 5N pink gold or 18k 5N white gold; with a solid screw-on case or exhibition case back.
Mounted to all these models is also a dazzling diamond-studded bezel. They also come equipped with an off-center, three-position, setting-crown adorned with a moonstone. All topped by a sapphire crystal and with a water-resistance of 30 meters (98 feet).
Let’s start with the smallest offering and grow upwards from there. First off is a 30mm option made of 18k 5N pink, which is the only model that has been deprived of a mechanical movement. Instead this timepiece is quartz powered and comes with three easily interchangeable Mississippiensis alligator straps in brown, pink, and dark brown; secured to the wrist by an ardillon buckle. Vacheron Constantin Égérie Self-Winding
Next up is a 35mm self-winding or 37mm moon-phase options available in stainless-steel with a matching steel bracelet, or 18k N Pink gold with the array of three leather straps; both with transparent exhibition case backs.
But, unlike the smaller model these editions are powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 1088 with 26 jewels, 144 parts and 28,800 Vph. Power reserve on this movement can last up to 40 hours, when fully wound.
Time is exhibited on a fan-textured pleated motif dial, similar to an Haute Couture fabric, created using the tapestry technique.
It features Arabic numerals and central hands crafted out of the same alloy material of each corresponding model. A date aperture has been fitted inside a ring between 1 and 2 o’clock, adorned with 34 round-cut diamonds.
Vacheron Constantin Égérie Moon Phase
The 37mm editions differ by featuring a moon-phase, instead of a date aperture. This moon-phase is composed of a: starry sky, behind clouds of mother-of-pearl; while surrounded by 36 round-cut diamonds.
There is also a fully “iced-out” version with a sparklingly dial made up of 802 round-cut diamonds.
The moon-phase on this edition has also been given a distinct look with two mother-of-pearl moons, which appear behind sapphire crystal clouds.
