Tudor Pelagos Ultra

Tudor has introduced its most advanced dive watch to date with the new Pelagos Ultra, a 43mm titanium tool watch engineered for professional saturation diving. With 1,000 meters of water resistance, a helium escape valve, and the brand’s first METAS-certified movement in the Pelagos line, this model represents a technical and functional leap within the brand’s modern dive watch catalog. Building on the legacy of Tudor’s military-grade tool watches, the Pelagos Ultra prioritizes performance and clarity without relying on vintage cues.
The 43mm case of the Tudor Pelagos Ultra brings together satin-brushed grade 2 titanium for the mid-case and bezel assembly, with a slightly darker tone and matte appearance. Its barrel-shaped silhouette is defined by wide lugs, flat angles, and a pronounced crown guard that reinforces the tool-watch character of the design. The bezel ring, also crafted from titanium, holds a matte black ceramic insert engraved with a 60-minute diving scale and filled with Grade X1 Super-LumiNova, offering optimal legibility.
Turning the watch over, the caseback is made from more durable grade 5 titanium, which offers superior corrosion resistance and higher hardness compared to grade 2. This design upgrade helps mitigate wear over time, especially in conditions with saltwater exposure. The caseback is solid and secured by screws, emphasizing its function-first approach and reinforcing its saturation diving credentials. The engraving is minimal and unobtrusive, leaving the visual focus on the functionality rather than embellishment.
A large screw-down crown with deep knurling and the Tudor shield in relief ensures secure handling, even when wearing gloves. To the left of the case, a flush-mounted helium escape valve signals the watch’s preparedness for prolonged decompression. The uni-directional bezel operates with distinct clicks and a tactile grip, while the overall case architecture has been refined slightly to better balance on the wrist despite the larger dimensions. Water-resistance can reach up to 1,000 meters (3,280 feet).
The dial retains the brand’s familiar matte black finish but introduces subtle refinements that elevate both form and function. It features a finely sandblasted flange that encircles the main dial, adding visual depth without detracting from legibility. Applied monobloc ceramic composite markers rise from the surface, each precisely inset and contributing to the watch’s rugged, utilitarian aesthetic. The markers are paired with Tudor’s signature “Snowflake” hands—angular and unmistakable, their design rooted in the brand’s late-1960s military heritage.
A notable refinement lies in the restrained text layout. Gone are the five lines found on the standard Pelagos. In their place, the dial carries just three carefully chosen lines: “Pelagos,” “Master Chronometer,” and the impressive 1,000-meter depth rating, thus creating a cleaner, more readable surface. The date window has been omitted entirely, further streamlining the dial and preserving symmetry across the display. The minute track remains sharp and discrete, integrated into the angled inner flange for clarity at a glance.
Functionality is enhanced through the use of dual-color Swiss Super-LumiNova. The minute hand and the bezel pip glow green, while the hour hand, hour markers, and seconds hand emit blue, allowing divers to distinguish elapsed time from standard time under low light or underwater. This thoughtful differentiation adds a layer of safety to an already capable instrument.

Tudor Pelagos Ultra

The “Tudor Pelagos Ultra” (Ref#: M2543C1A7NU-0001) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber MT5612-U with 26 jewels and 28,800 vph. It features a variable inertia balance with a non-magnetic silicon hairspring held in place by a full traversing bridge. Power reserve can last up to 65 hours, when fully wound.
The Pelagos Ultra is fitted with a three-link titanium bracelet secured by Tudor’s T-fit clasp, which includes a safety catch, rapid micro-adjustment, and a diver’s extension system. Unique to this model is a luminous indicator integrated into the clasp, offering at-a-glance visibility of its position during low-light or underwater conditions. The watch also comes with a complementary black rubber strap featuring titanium end links, a pin buckle, and an additional rubber extension piece for wetsuit wear.
