Tudor Black Bay Bronze Slate Dial
We’ve seen several iterations of Tudor’s Black Bay dive watch made of bronze, since it originally debuted three years ago. The color palate has included a brown chocolatey version, the blue-dialed exclusive Bucherer edition and even a very limited khaki green left-handed version. And what those releases have in common with the new “slate grey” dial offering, is the fact that they all been a hit, cementing this model as a worthy option for anyones wrist.

The 43mm case is made out bronze with a bronze PVD-treated steel case back with a satin finish. Mounted to the case is a bronze unidirectional rotatable diver’s-style bezel, equipped with a 60-minute graduated disc in matt slate grey anodised aluminum.
It also comes equipped with a setting-crown that has been engraved with the Tudor logo. Overall the case has a brushed finish, which plays well with other subtle details such as the riveted periphery of the bezel.
All topped by a scratch resistant domed sapphire crystal. Water resistance on this watch can reach up to 200 meters (600 feet).
In essence this watch is identical to previously released "Heritage Black Bay Bronze". But, some believe this versions color scheme may garner a wider appeal, thanks to its more neutral tone. While the blue Bucherer and brown models carried distinct personalities, which undoubtedly brought joy to many fans of those hues; especially among sports aficionados that could link them back to their team colors.
But, for those seeking a solid timepiece that could more organically blended into various outfits and scenarios; this “slate grey” was just what they were looking for.
Time is exhibited on a slate grey dial with hour index markers and the Arabic numerals 3, 6 and 9. There is also a minute railroad track circling the dial, near the bezel. Comes equipped with Tudor’s characteristic angular hands referred to as “snowflake hands”, a direct inspiration from the French Navy in the 1970’s.
The numerals, hour index markers and hands have all undergone a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.
