Tudor Black Bay GMT White Opaline

Back in 2018 during what was then known as Baselworld, marked the release of the “Tudor Black Bay GMT” with an almost “Pepsi” style bezel. It now returns with all the same characteristics that made it a great value proposition back then, while offering a completely different aesthetic look by swapping the black dial for an opaline white option. Another great release at this year's Watches & Wonders 2023 that will undoubtedly become a wide crowd pleaser. The 41mm case is made of stainless-steel with radial brushed surfaces and polished accents, while on the flip-side is a solid screw down caseback. The lugs on these pieces have been made slightly longer for a more accommodating wrist fit.Mounted to the case is a bidirectional 48 notches bezel in steel with 24-hour graduated anodised aluminum disc in matt burgundy and blue. At first glance this bezel brings to mind the “Pepsi” color scheme, but unlike the Rolex model which is colored blue and red, Tudor’s press release clearly distinguishes their burgundy hue.It comes equipped with a knurled screw-down crown, with the signature Tudor rose logo in relief. This is essentially the same quality case as the original, but housing a COSC certified movement. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 200 meters (660 feet).Time is exhibited on a domed opaline dial with round, rectangular and a triangular hour index marker, followed by a railroad-motif ring of minute index markers circling around the flange. The dial also has a galvanic finish that produces a matted white-gray hue. The central hand varies with a “snowflake” hour hand and sword-shaped minute hand. While the running seconds on this model returns to its standard square seconds hand, after a few recent releases with the iconic lollipop hand. It also includes a central red GMT hand with a square headstock. All these hands and indices have been given a Super-LumiNova coating for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture at 3 o'clock position.
