Tudor refines one of its most popular models with the latest Tudor Black Bay 58 in black-gilt, blending vintage-inspired aesthetics with contemporary technical performance. Building on the success of the compact 39mm platform introduced in 2018, this new iteration pairs a classic matte black dial with warm gilt accents while integrating a METAS-certified manufacture movement. The result is a watch that not only reinforces Tudor’s heritage-driven design language but also signals its continued shift toward high-performance, modern chronometry. The Black Bay 58 is presented in a 39mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.7mm, maintaining the compact proportions that have made this model so widely appreciated. The case features a combination of satin-brushed and polished surfaces, including a subtle polished bevel along the sides, giving it a refined yet robust appearance.
On the reverse, a solid screw-down steel caseback preserves the integrity of the dive-watch construction. The case architecture ensures durability and resistance under demanding conditions, in line with the professional specifications expected from the Black Bay line.
At 3 o’clock, a redesigned screw-down crown sits flush against the caseband and is embossed with the Tudor rose in relief. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, enhancing the vintage aesthetic while maintaining modern durability. Water-resistance can reach up to 200 meters (656 feet).
The dial adopts a matte black finish, providing a subdued and functional backdrop for the warm gilt accents that define this edition. Its slightly domed profile reinforces the vintage character, recalling early Tudor dive watches from the mid-20th century.
Applied indices and hands are framed in gold tones, with the iconic snowflake hour hand paired with a lollipop-style seconds hand, a nod to historical Tudor references. The peripheral minute track and dial inscriptions also follow the gilt theme, creating a cohesive and period-correct aesthetic.
Depth is enhanced by the interplay between the matte surface and metallic accents, while functionality remains paramount. The hands and hour markers are treated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring strong visibility in low-light conditions and underwater environments.
