Compact and classically styled, the stainless steel case of the Tudor Black Bay 54 Lagoon Blue measures 37mm in diameter, 11.24mm in height, and spans 46mm from lug to lug. It features a brushed finish across the flat surfaces with polished bevels along the lugs and flanks. The unidirectional rotating bezel is crafted from polished steel and set with a mirror-finished steel insert that incorporates a matte 60-minute diving scale in negative relief, offering a unique and luxurious visual contrast.The caseback is solid stainless steel with a brushed finish and is secured by screws. It conceals the movement entirely, but provides a sense of security and reinforces the tool-watch identity of the Black Bay collection, even in this more elegant iteration.At the right flank is a screw-down crown engraved with Tudor’s iconic rose motif in relief. The case is topped with a domed sapphire crystal featuring anti-reflective treatment on the underside. Water-resistance can reach up to 200 meters (660 feet).
The Tudor Black Bay 54 Lagoon Blue distinguishes itself with a richly textured dial in a vibrant tone called “Lagoon Blue”. The surface has a fine sand-like grain that shimmers subtly under light, enhancing the watch’s summer-y and refined aesthetic. This unique texture marks a first for the Black Bay line and contributes to the model’s shift from tool to statement piece.The signature Snowflake handset is rendered in polished metal, harmonizing with the applied hour markers, which are also polished and generously filled with white Super-LumiNova for high legibility. The “Tudor Black Bay 54 Lagoon Blue” (Ref#: M79000-0001) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber MT5400, developed by the Tudor/Kenissi manufacture. This COSC-certified movement features a bidirectional central rotor mounted on ball bearings, 27 jewels, and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). It incorporates a variable inertia balance with micro-adjustment screw and a non-magnetic silicon hairspring, all secured under a transversal balance bridge. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a 5-link Jubilee-style stainless steel bracelet, secured by a folding clasp with Tudor’s T-Fit micro-adjustment system offering up to 8mm of on-the-fly adaptability.
