Tudor Black Bay 54
One of the most crowd pleasing watches is back with a new variation. The latest addition to Tudor’s Black Bay collection has introduced a new shorter case size. In little over a decade this model has really flourished and expanded way beyond what might have been initially foreseen. Plus despite the size reduction this new “Tudor Black Bay 54” has preserved many of the looks and specifications of their bigger options.The 37mm case is made of stainless-steel with radial brushed surfaces and polished accents, while on the flip-side is a solid screw down caseback. Mounted to the case is a unidirectional rotating coin edged bezel with a 60-minute scale on a black aluminum insert.
It comes equipped with a knurled screw-down crown, with the signature Tudor rose logo in relief. This is essentially the same quality case we’ve come to expect in a smaller diameter. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 200 meters (660 feet).
Time is exhibited on a domed black dial with a mixture of applied gilt round and rectangular hour index markers, plus a single-triangular mark at the 12 o'clock position. Circling the flange is a gilt printed minute track.
The central hand varies with a “snowflake” hour hand and sword-shaped minute hand. While the running seconds takes on the form of the equally recognizable lollipop hand, which has come to replace the standard square seconds hand it would usually have.
All these indicators as well as the hour indices have been given a Super-LumiNova coating for an enhanced legibility.

The “Tudor Black Bay 54” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber MT5400 with 27 jewels and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with a traversing balance bridge, free-sprung Microstella balance wheel, and non-magnetic silicon balance spring. Power reserve can last up to 70 hours.
Mounted to watch is a three-link riveted stainless-steel bracelet with brushed finish and polished chamfers, secured by a Tudor T-Fit micro-adjustable folding clasp.
It is also available with a rubber strap in three sizes with steel end-link and the same T-Fit micro-adjustable folding clasp
