Marking a significant milestone in its history, Tudor introduces the 1926 Luna, the brand’s very first moon phase complication. Named in tribute to the year “The Tudor” was first registered by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, this elegant 39mm model blends classical watchmaking cues with refined proportions and a new poetic complication. Offered in three sunray dial variants: champagne, blue, and black. The Luna adds a quietly sophisticated layer to the 1926 collection, while maintaining the robust build quality and approachable price point Tudor is known for.
This moon phase debut by Tudor is housed in a 316L stainless-steel case measuring 39mm in diameter and 10.1mm in thickness. The case design features a mix of satin-brushed surfaces and polished accents that lend the watch a classic, refined aesthetic. The fixed bezel is mirror-polished to complement the case’s sleek finish.
Flipping the watch over reveals a solid stainless-steel caseback, secured by screw-down construction. While the caseback hides the movement from view, its presence emphasizes the brand’s focus on robust reliability and traditional sports watch roots.
Functionality is further reinforced by a screw-down crown, engraved with the Tudor logo. A domed sapphire crystal rises subtly above the dial, adding vintage charm and softening the watch’s profile. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet), making the watch suitable for daily wear and occasional water exposure.
The Tudor 1926 Luna is introduced in three striking sunray-finished dial variations: champagne, deep blue, and black. Each dial has been subtly domed, contributing a soft vintage feel that complements the overall proportions of the case.
The surface plays elegantly with light, offering a touch of sophistication while maintaining the understated aesthetic typical of the 1926 collection.
Positioned at 6 o’clock is the moon phase aperture, framed by a polished bevel that highlights the complication’s presence without overpowering the dial.
The moon disc itself is rendered in a classic format, with a gold moon and stars rotating beneath a crescent-shaped cutout. This elegant display integrates smoothly into the dial layout, offering both a poetic visual and practical functionality.
Surrounding the moon phase are even-numbered Arabic numerals applied between faceted arrow-shaped hour markers, all rendered in polished metal.
Sword-shaped hands sweep across the surface, enhancing legibility while reinforcing the vintage-modern hybrid language of the design. The domed sapphire crystal enhances dial visibility while protecting the intricate elements below.
Tudor 1926 Luna
The “Tudor 1926 Luna” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber T607-9 with 25 jewels, and 28,800 vph. This movement drives the timekeeping functions as well as the moon phase complication located at 6 o’clock. Power reserve can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a stainless-steel seven-link bracelet featuring satin-brushed outer links and polished center links, secured by a folding clasp with safety catch.
It balances vintage charm with modern comfort, reflecting the elegant simplicity of the 1926 collection.
The smooth integration between the case and bracelet enhances the watch’s overall ergonomic feel, making it suitable for daily wear across a range of wrist sizes.
