The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Celebration aka Bubbles
Back in 2020 Rolex launched five new colorful dials for their entry level “Oyster Perpetual” collection for 41, 36, and 31mm sized models. Now three years later Rolex is actually celebrating those prior releases with a very special and unconventional dial that includes all those colors in the form of scattered bubbles. Other than that we’ve got the same solid case construction with no alterations. These Oystersteel watches are available in either 41, 36, and 31mm, all put together by a monoblock middle case and a screw-down caseback. The smaller option is obviously scaled down and required to be fitted with a different caliber movement due to the space limitations. Mounted to the case is a domed bezel with a polished finish that is further highlighted, due to the visible contrast against the brushed finish on the surface of the main case. It comes equipped with a screw-down setting crown, equipped with the Twinlock double waterproofness system. All topped by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet) on all the different sized options.Time is exhibited on a special dial nicknamed “bubbles” with applied hour indices, followed by a ring of smaller printed minute markings. On the official Rolex website they’ve named the dial “Celebration”. Its most prominent hue is turquoise blue to form the background, which is then covered by differently sized bubbles fringed with black. They each encapsulate vivid colors that recall the lacquered dials introduced in 2020 which included: candy pink, yellow, coral red, and green. It also features some turquoise bubbles that standout due to the black outline. The central hour/minute hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a blue Chromalight luminescence, instead of the green glow of its predecessors.
