TAG Heuer continues to push the limits of innovation with the new Monaco Flyback Chronograph TH-Carbonspring, introduced during Geneva Watch Days 2025. This limited edition of just 50 pieces debuts the brand’s next-generation carbon hairspring, dubbed the “TH-Carbonspring”, inside a forged carbon case shaped in the Monaco’s iconic square silhouette. Bold and technical in its design, this Monaco is not only the first in the collection to feature flyback chronograph functionality, but also one of the most advanced timepieces TAG Heuer has ever produced.
The case of this TAG Heuer Monaco stays true to the signature square shape of the collection, measuring 39mm in diameter, 14.1mm thick, and 47.4mm from lug to lug. Crafted entirely from forged carbon, it showcases a matte, marbled texture unique to each piece. The overall geometry remains angular and industrial, matching the Monaco’s bold heritage while leaning fully into contemporary materials and high-performance aesthetics. On the reverse side, a transparent sapphire crystal caseback reveals the in-house flyback chronograph movement within. The caseback itself is set flush within the forged carbon housing, offering a technical contrast between the futuristic material and the refined mechanical finishing visible through the display.
A forged carbon crown is positioned at 3 o’clock and features subtle knurling for grip. Rectangular pushers in matching forged carbon are located at 2 and 4 o’clock, maintaining the Monaco’s classic layout. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
The dial of this Monaco is carved from forged carbon, mirroring the material used for the case and creating a visual unity across the entire watch. A spiraling motif is engraved directly into the dial surface, inspired by the structure of the brand’s new TH-Carbonspring hairspring. This dynamic pattern gives the dial both depth and a distinct technical identity, emphasizing the innovation beneath it. The color palette is restrained, mostly matte black and dark gray, allowing the intricate textures and layout to take center stage.
Consistent with Monaco design language, the dial features a pair of squared chronograph registers placed horizontally, providing a bold yet balanced symmetry. These sub-dials are slightly recessed with black interiors, continuing the stealthy theme while subtly enhancing legibility. The small running seconds indicator sits below center, integrating neatly without disturbing the dial’s architecture.Applied faceted markers add a touch of refinement, while the polished hour and minute hands are filled with luminous material to ensure visibility. A slim red central chronograph seconds hand injects a sharp visual accent and reinforces the watch’s sporty character. Overall, the dial merges Monaco heritage with a futuristic execution that is inextricably linked to the TH-Carbonspring’s cutting-edge presence.
