TAG Heuer Monaco on a Bracelet

For over half a century this classic watch has held its own particular spot within the horology market, as one of the most iconic square cased options. To celebrate last year we saw the "TAG Heuer Monaco" release several limited editions and upgrade them all with their in-house caliber Heuer 02. Now its appeal has been further widen by adding a new retro-inspired Monaco bracelet option to the whole collection. The 39mm case is made of stainless-steel with a mixture of fine-brushed and polished finishing, all condensed in its iconic square shape with a matted bezel.Meanwhile on the flip-side this model has been given an exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of its new caliber movement. Despite the change to a larger movement the casing has remained the same for this iteration.

It comes equipped with two steel alternate shaped push-buttons on the left-side of the case to operate the chronograph functions, with a polished setting-crown in-between them. Unlike many of its previous anniversary editions which feature the crown on the opposite side of the case.
All topped by a domed and beveled scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance on this watch being capable of reaching up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a black PVD sunray dial with steel applied hour index markers aligned with round white-toned hour dots, followed by smaller minute index markers creating a round circle form within the square case frame. Usually the Monaco features a bi-compax dial, but is has now switched to a tri-compax. So, there are two white sub-dials: a 30-minute counter at the 3 o’clock position and a 12-hour counter at the 9 o’clock position; plus the “tri” element in the form of a subtle sub-seconds aligned at the 6 o’clock spot. These sub-dials have been given red hands, just as the central chronograph hand, adding an extra touch of color to its overall black tone. The central stainless-steel hands and the hour index markers have all undergone a green luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a discrete black date aperture located at the 6 o’clock position; while the upper-half of the dial showcases the vintage “MONACO HEUER” logo in white print.
