TAG Heuer’s 2025 refresh of the Formula 1 collection introduced shaped titanium cases, integrated rubber straps, and a refined motorsport aesthetic. Now, the brand presents a mechanical tribute to its legendary ambassador Ayrton Senna. This special edition is built on the new 44mm platform and highlights the racing icon’s yellow tones, Brazil-inspired subdial accents, and a forged carbon bezel engraved with Senna’s stylized “S.” Bold yet wearable, it joins a parallel quartz S/EL model but stands apart through its mechanical movement and emotive caseback engraving.

Crafted from Grade 2 titanium and entirely sandblasted for a rugged matte finish, the 44mm case receives a full black DLC coating that adds stealth and durability. A forged carbon fixed bezel, engraved with a tachymeter scale and Senna’s signature “S” at 12 o’clock, is visually separated from the mid-case by a bright yellow tension ring. The overall design is compact despite its chronograph architecture, measuring 14.3mm thick with a lug-to-lug span of 47.3mm.Around back, a solid black DLC-coated screw-down caseback secures the watch while displaying an engraving of Senna’s eyes behind a race visor, a detail that reinforces the tribute without compromising robustness. The full titanium and DLC construction keeps the timepiece light on the wrist despite its tool-watch proportions.Completing the external features are a notched screw-down crown and reshaped chronograph pushers, both also coated in black DLC. The top side is protected by a flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. Water-resistance can reach up to 200 meters (660 feet).The black dial features a sunray finish that catches ambient light, but the overall aesthetic remains focused and legible. Three counters dominate the tri-compax layout: a 30-minute chronograph at 12 o’clock with a yellow hand, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o’clock with multicolored Brazil-style markings, and a running seconds subdial at 9 o’clock with Senna’s yellow “S.” A beveled date aperture at 3 o’clock provides daily utility without disrupting symmetry.Applied rhodium-plated indices are filled with white Super-LumiNova, matching the baton-style hour and minute hands. The central chronograph seconds hand is lacquered in Senna yellow for visual continuity. The overall effect balances sportiness with brand and cultural homage.
Finishing details include the framed subdials, clean chapter ring, and contrasting color cues that ensure functionality and identity at a glance, even under fast glances or low-light conditions.

The “TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna” (Ref#: CBZ2081.FT8092) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 16 with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. Based on the Sellita SW510 and using the Valjoux 7750 architecture, this chronograph caliber features a cam-actuated system and a date function. Power reserve can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is a bright yellow rubber strap secured by a black DLC stainless steel pin buckle. Integrated into the case design, the strap enhances the sporty silhouette while offering a comfortable and secure fit.
