TAG Heuer continues to evolve its core chronograph collection with the new Carrera Glassbox Chronograph 41mm, an expansion of the curved sapphire “Glassbox” design introduced in 2023. Rooted in the racing legacy of the original 1963 Carrera yet shaped by contemporary ergonomics and movement innovations, this new series brings a bolder stance and refined presence to one of the brand’s most iconic designs.

Measuring 41mm in diameter, 47.48mm lug-to-lug, and 14.17mm thick, the new Carrera Glassbox Chronograph case is crafted entirely from stainless-steel and finished with a combination of satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The signature domed sapphire crystal flows seamlessly into the caseband, eliminating the bezel and drawing attention to the wide-open dial beneath. The reinterpreted dimensions provide enhanced wrist presence while preserving the signature Carrera comfort and clarity.A sapphire crystal display back reveals the in-house movement and is engraved around the edge with the Victory Wreath, a long-standing Carrera symbol of motor-racing triumph and endurance. The caseback adds depth and a subtle nod to the model’s heritage.The fluted crown at 3 o’clock is signed with the TAG Heuer shield. Chronograph pushers sit at 2 and 4 o’clock, providing precise control over start, stop, and reset functions. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment safeguards the dial. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Three dial variants are available at launch: circular-brushed Blue, Teal Green, and Black. All dials feature recessed sub-dials with “azurage” finishing for the 30-minute counter at 3, 12-hour counter at 9, and small seconds at 6 o’clock. Each maintains a classic tri-compax layout with strong legibility and Carrera DNA. The black model adds sporty red highlights to the chronograph hands and outer ring, while the blue and green editions maintain a more tonal appearance.The rhodium-plated indices and central hands are faceted and filled with white Super-LumiNova for night-time visibility. The printed tachymeter and minute tracks are applied on the curved flange, which follows the contour of the crystal to eliminate distortion and parallax error.Finishing across all three models is crisp and precise, with the domed crystal and lack of bezel drawing the eye directly into the dial architecture. The applied silver Heuer logo at 12 o’clock adds a vintage flourish while balancing the symmetrical dial layout.

The “TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber TH20-01 with 33 jewels and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch for precision timing and smooth pusher action. Power reserve can last up to 80 hours, when fully wound.Mounted on this watch is a stainless-steel seven-row bracelet, inspired by vintage “beads-of-rice” designs and composed of alternating brushed and polished links. It is secured by a butterfly folding clasp with dual push-button release. The bracelet’s taper and articulation ensure a comfortable, ergonomic fit, while the refined finishing enhances the sporty-meets-classic aesthetic of the updated case and dial designs.
