In 2021, an exciting collaboration was established between two influential entities who share a profound passion for speed. The partnership between TAG Heuer and Porsche felt like a natural fit, leaving many to question why it hadn't happened sooner, especially considering both brands have products bearing the name 'Carrera.' Now the most recent addition to their lineup is the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche, a striking timepiece available in steel or gold, designed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Carrera watch and the Porsche 911 sports car. What sets this watch apart is its unique display feature: a seconds hand that doesn't move in a linear fashion but rather emulates the acceleration of the original 1963 Porsche 911, adding a distinctive touch to its design.The 42mm case is available in either stainless-steel or 18k rose gold with a mixture of brushed and polished finish, while mounted by a thin alloy matching fixed bezel.On the flipside is a transparent sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features a column wheel shaped like a steering wheel to further highlight the Porsche motif.It also comes equipped with two push-pieces to operate the chronograph functions, plus a riveted setting-crown engraved with the Heuer logo. All topped by a glassbox domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet). Time is exhibited on a silver dial (steel model) or beige (rose gold model) with applied hour indices, followed by a ring of black seconds and thicker minute index markers circling around the periphery. The curved flange has been raised for an optical effect and includes the useful tachymeter scale.There are three circular-grained counters: a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a sub-seconds at 6 o’clock (that also includes a date window) and a 12-hour counter at the 9 o’clock position. All the red accents seen within them, just as the red portion on the tachymeter scale are all alluding to its Porsche 911 inspiration. The steel model has red lacquered hands, while the rose gold model has gold hands. These hands were also inspired by the shape of a car dashboard.Both models have stainless-steel central hands, but differ on the chronograph hand which appears in gold for the rose gold model, and can be activated to keep track of time laps during any race activity. The central hands have all been coated with a green luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

The “TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche” (References below) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber TH20-08 with 33 jewels, and 28,800 Vph. It comes equipped with an integrated chronograph, column wheel and vertical clutch providing high-quality chronometric accuracy.
