Inspired by the brand’s early collaborations with Abercrombie & Fitch, the new Seafarer becomes part of the permanent collection, merging vintage sailing watch aesthetics with cutting-edge mechanics. Featuring a tide indicator calibrated to the lunar cycle, the watch draws from the spirit of the 1960s original while showcasing the modern Carrera Glassbox design. The result is a bold yet refined chronograph that balances seafaring functionality with cosmopolitan charm.
The Carrera Seafarer Chronograph features a 42mm stainless-steel case defined by TAG Heuer’s signature Glassbox architecture. With a thickness of 14.4mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 48.6mm, the watch maintains an assertive yet wearable profile. The case design forgoes a bezel, instead integrating a domed sapphire crystal that flows seamlessly into the case flanks. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces reinforce the Carrera’s sporty elegance while hinting at its nautical character.Around the back, a screw-down sapphire crystal caseback reveals the automatic chronograph movement. The caseback is engraved with TAG Heuer’s Victory Wreath motif and secured with fine finishing along the rim. The transparent design offers a clear view of the TH20-04 calibre and its custom rotor shaped like the TAG Heuer shield, balancing function with visual depth.At 3 o’clock sits the polished crown, flanked by pump-style chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock. The Carrera Seafarer’s dial presents a rich and thoughtfully layered layout. A champagne opaline base serves as the central canvas, paired with a beige peripheral flange that hosts the 60-second and minute scales in 5-minute increments. Three recessed counters are symmetrically arranged: a 30-minute chronograph totaliser at 3 o’clock in blue-teal and beige tones, a running seconds subdial at 6 o’clock with an integrated date window, and a tide indicator at 9 o’clock with alternating teal and yellow sectors. The overall structure remains faithful to the spirit of 1960s sailing watches while incorporating modern clarity.Applied 18K 3N yellow gold-plated indices provide depth and contrast against the warm opaline dial. The central chronograph seconds hand is also gold-plated, extending across the dial with precision. Hour and minute hands are faceted and gold-plated as well, styled in a clean baton shape that complements the Carrera’s design language. All subdials are outlined with subtle circular grooves that catch the light, maintaining an even balance across all visual elements. Text remains minimal and functional, allowing the indicators to remain legible at a glance. Teal Super-LumiNova is applied to the hour and minute hands as well as the hour markers, offering luminous clarity in low-light conditions. The sunken subdials and the pronounced tide quadrant create a multi-layered effect, giving the dial a strong sense of dimensionality. The choice of colours: champagne, teal, yellow, and beige infuses the dial with maritime nostalgia, while the contemporary finishing ensures it reads as both sporty and refined.

The “TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer” (Ref#: CBS2016.EB0430) is powered by the in‑house self‑winding mechanical movement, caliber TH20-04 with 33 jewels and 80,000 vph. It comes equipped with a column wheel, vertical clutch, and a lunar-calibrated tide indicator that completes one full rotation every 29.53 days. Power reserve can last up to 80 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is TAG Heuer’s seven-row stainless steel “beads of rice” bracelet, featuring alternating brushed and polished links and secured by a folding clasp with double push-buttons. This vintage-inspired bracelet complements the domed crystal and polished details of the Glassbox case, enhancing the retro-modern aesthetic. The added beige sports strap with teal lining offers a more casual, nautical option, while both configurations ensure a comfortable, balanced presence on the wrist.
