TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Date
The story of the TAG Heuer Professional began in 1978, when Jack Heuer conceived the reference 844, as a watch designed for outdoor sports and adventure. Since then it has gone through many iterations until it added the “Aquaracer” name in 2004. More recently in 2021 they released the “Aquaracer Professional 300” and a mere year later it's been followed-up by this smaller “Aquaracer Professional 200” option. The 40mm case is made of stainless-steel with vertically brushed surfaces and polished accents. Mounted to the case is a unidirectional steel rotating bezel with a brushed finish that contrasts with the case due to the strokes directions. Engraved to the bezel is a 60-minute scale, counted out by 10’s, excluding the 60-minute marker for the iconic triangular index marker (doubling its function as part of a rotating scale). On the flip-side we encounter a solid steel case back with a polished finish, while engraved in the center portion is a compass rose; instead of the usual Aquaracer dive helmet. It comes equipped with a knurled screw-in steel setting-crown, embossed with the TAG Heuer logo. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, which also assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 200 meters (656 feet).Time is exhibited on a blue or black dial with steel-applied hour index markers, followed by a ring of white printed minute/seconds markers circling the periphery of the dial. A stepped pattern and fumé gradient finish can be seen underling and scaling this dial throughout its whole dimension. On the upper-half dial is the “AQUARACER” inscription and TAG Heuer logo, while the lower-half highlights the “AUTOMATIC” movement and water-resistance.The central sword-shaped stainless-steel hands and hour index markers have all been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a date aperture at the 6 o’clock position.
