For those seriously into diving TAG Heuer has recently released the “Aquaracer Professional Superdiver” as a step up from their “Aquaracer Professional 300”. This edition has been upgraded to embrace deep-sea exploration with enhanced security. Plus a partnership with Kenissi Manufacture SA has equipped it with a brand new caliber movement. The 45mm case is made of grade 5 titanium with a mixture of brushed and polished finish, while on the flip-side we encounter a solid steel case back engraved with a vintage diver’s helmet.Mounted to the case is a 12-sided unidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert and orange composite 15-minute scale. This 60-minute scale is counted up by 10’s, excluding the 60-minute marker for the iconic triangular index marker. It comes equipped with a black DLC screw-down crown with an orange indicator, plus surrounded by a steel crown guard. To ensure deep dive capabilities it also features a rectangular steel helium escape valve at the 9 o’clock spot. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Water-resistance can reach up to 1000 meters (3300 feet).Time is exhibited on a black sun-ray dial with octagonal applied indices and wedge-shaped markers at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock. Followed by a lighter colored ring of printed minute/seconds markers circling the periphery of the dial. A stepped pattern can be seen underlining and scaling this dial throughout its whole canvas. The TAG Heuer logo inscribed on the upper-half of the dial, while the lower-half highlights the "SUPERDIVER" name in orange and water-resistance. The central sword-shaped hour and big arrow-shaped minute hand, plus the hour index markers have all been fitted with a contrasting blue/green luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.
