Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase

Swatch has introduced a new addition to its ever-growing MoonSwatch lineup with the Mission to EarthPhase. This latest release doesn’t just add another color or design to the series; it debuts a new feature: an Earth Phase Indicator. Launching in selected Swatch stores on November 2nd, this playful twist on the MoonSwatch concept offers a unique view of Earth as it might look from the moon, alongside the more familiar moonphase function. Set in 42mm BioCeramic and priced at $325 USD, the EarthPhase brings fresh perspective to Swatch’s ongoing collaboration with Omega. The 42mm case is crafted from Swatch’s signature BioCeramic material, a blend of ceramic and bio-sourced plastics that makes for a lightweight and comfortable fit on the wrist. The case’s matte grey finish brings a contemporary feel, drawing visual parallels with Swatch’s earlier Mission to Mercury and Mission to Moon models. At 13.75mm thick, the watch has a robust yet wearable profile, making it an easy fit for a variety of wrists while maintaining the bold character typical of the MoonSwatch collection. On the flip-side is a matching bioceramic caseback, which just like the previous releases has a batter cap decorated with an image of this model's theme. Below that we can read the inscription text “MISSION TO THE MOON ”. Finally circling around the periphery of the caseback we can read “DREAM BIG - FLY HIGHER - EXPLORE THE UNIVERSE - REACH FOR THE PLANETS - ENJOY THE MISSION”. The case design includes a screw-down crown and pushers that allow precise control over the chronograph functions, adding a practical touch to the aesthetic. The tachymeter bezel in black contrasts with the grey case and reinforces the chronograph functionality, while integrated lugs streamline the overall look. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet). The dial of the Mission to EarthPhase combines Swatch’s whimsical design sensibility with Omega’s precision-inspired detailing. Gray and black tones dominate the dial, with a black track encircling the outer edge to reinforce its visual symmetry. This edition keeps the chronograph sub-dials and layout similar to other MoonSwatch models, with a balanced arrangement that places the Earth phase indicator at the forefront. One of the standout elements is the Earth phase complication, which functions as a reverse of the moonphase display. This unique feature rotates to depict Earth as it would appear from the moon, showcasing three different “phases” representing various continents, illuminated under the UV-emitting “sun.” The moonphase sits alongside this, providing a familiar yet refreshed complication for fans of the MoonSwatch series. Together, these create a dynamic interaction of celestial and terrestrial elements on the dial. The Super-LumiNova coating on the hands, indices, and Earth and moon displays ensures visibility in low-light conditions. This luminescent application brings the moon and Earth displays to life at night, allowing both phases to glow with Swatch’s signature creativity.
