Officine Panerai Radiomir Quaranta Goldtech™
Last summer we welcomed the “Luminor Quaranta” which was a smaller option for traditionally large Luminor models. “Quaranta” is Italian for 40 and that's the new smaller wrist size being put out by Officine Panerai. Following on that initiative, during Watches and Wonders 2023 they presented their first “Radiomir Quaranta“ crafted out of a proprietary alloy with a very dress friendly color scheme.
The cushion-shaped 40 mm case is made of 18k Goldtech™ (which is a proprietary combination of platinum and copper that results in a red-gold tone) with an overall polished finish.
Mounted to the case is a matching Goldtech™ bezel that continues the polished finish profile of the main case. It features the iconic thin wire-style lugs, which are almost synonymous with the Radiomir model and comes equipped with a knurled setting-crown embossed with the “OP” logo.
We weren’t able to obtain any caseback images, so we’re uncertain if it’ll have a sapphire or solid case back. Although water-resistance can only reach up to 30 meters (98 feet), which leads us to believe these elements may not be that thick.
Time is exhibited on the iconic Panerai sandwich dial in a white sunbrushed finish with hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6 and 12. A small seconds sub-dial is placed at the 9 o’clock position.
It comes equipped with gold central hands that elegantly blend with the under layer of its sandwich dial. The divided hour hand is a nice, subtle, vintage detail seen on historic Radiomir models.
The hands, hour index markers, Arabic numerals, and sub-dial have all been fitted with a green luminescent hue, for an enhanced legibility. There is also a small cut-out date aperture at the 3 o’clock spot. 
Officine Panerai Radiomir Quaranta Goldtech™
The “Officine Panerai Radiomir Quaranta Goldtech™” (Ref#: PAM01026) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber P.900 with 23 jewels, 12 ½ lignes, 171 components, and 28,800 vph. Power reserve can last up to 72 hours (3 days), when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is a brown espresso alligator scaled strap with tone-on-tone stitching, secured to the wrist by an 18k Goldtech™ trapezoidal buckle. For more up to date information visit the official Officine Panerai website here.
