Rolex reintroduces one of its most technically ambitious models with the new generation Rolex Yacht-Master II, marking the return of its regatta chronograph after a two-year absence. More than a simple revival, this updated version brings a cleaner, more contemporary design alongside a newly developed movement, reinforcing the model’s position as one of the most complex and purpose-driven watches in Rolex’s professional lineup. The new Yacht-Master II retains its commanding 44mm case, now measuring 13.90mm in thickness, and is offered in either Oystersteel or 18k yellow gold. The case features a mix of satin-brushed and polished finishes, delivering a refined yet sporty presence consistent with Rolex’s professional watches.

On the reverse, a solid screw-down caseback ensures the integrity and durability expected from the Oyster architecture. While closed, it supports the watch’s robust construction and contributes to its reliability under demanding conditions.

At 3 o’clock sits the Triplock screw-down crown, accompanied by pushers used to control the regatta chronograph function. A unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a blue Cerachrom insert now features a more traditional 60-minute scale, replacing the previous countdown display. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (328 feet).

The dial has undergone one of the most significant transformations in this new generation. Executed in matte white lacquer, it presents a cleaner and more legible layout, with the regatta countdown scale now relocated to a sloped flange along the outer perimeter.

Applied hour markers and hands, crafted in either white or yellow gold depending on the model, are filled with Chromalight for long-lasting blue luminescence. The central countdown hand remains a key visual and functional element, preserving the watch’s regatta-focused identity.

The removal of the inner dial scale creates a more balanced composition, while subtle color accents: red on the steel version and gold tones on the yellow gold model, add differentiation. All lume elements are confined to the hands and markers, ensuring excellent visibility in low-light conditions.
