Rolex GMT-Master II Left-Handed
And just like that Rolex released a “GMT-Master II" with the lefties in mind. All the same design elements and robust caliber 3285, as found on the right-sided model, now available for left-side wearers. But despite all the similarities the left version does offer its own peculiar, seemingly off-set look. An unexpected release that undoubtedly will have cheered many watch aficionados. This practical travel watch continues expanding the reach of a modern crowd-pleasing Rolex classic. The 40mm case is made of OysterSteel with a vertical polished surface and polished finish accents. On the flip-side is screw-on caseback with the traditional fluted profile.Mounted to the watch is a bi-directional rotatable bezel with the iconic 24-hour graduated two-color Cerachrom insert in black and green. The lugs and sides of the Oyster case feature the same slightly redesigned elements seen on previous “Pepsi” and “Root beer” updates. The main difference is the left-sided winding crown with guards, identical design as seen on their right-sided versions. All topped by a sapphire crystal that includes a cyclops lens over the date. Plus it comes equipped with a screw-down crown that has a Triplock triple waterproof system, which assures water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a black lacquered dial with applied hour index markers in round, rectangular and a triangular shape at the 12 o’clock position. While circling the dial are also white printed minute index markers. The central hands, hour index markers and arrow-tip of the GMT hand, have all been fitted with a Chromalight luminescent material, for an enhanced legibility. The 24-hour GMT hand has been coated with green lacquer. There is also a date aperture at the 9 o’clock position with the magnifying cyclops lens. As a left-handed model, instead of the common 3 o’clock spot, the date window needed to be shifted around.
