Patek Philippe World Time with Date iN Regular Collection

At the Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 exhibition, amid an array of travel watches, Patek Philippe revealed the Reference 5330G-001 World Time. With a heritage spanning over 80 years, including the iconic Cottier watches, Worldtimers remain a cornerstone of Patek Philippe's complications. Patek Philippe reintroduced this complication in 2000 with the debut of the 5110 model. This was followed by the 5130 in 2006, succeeded by the 5230 in 2016. Originally launched as a 300-piece limited edition during the Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition “Watch Art” Tokyo 2023, the Reference 5330 now joins the manufacturer's regular collection. The 40mm round case is crafted from 18k white gold, boasting a sleek mirror-like polished finish. It is accompanied by a slender bezel, maintaining a height of 11.57mm. Noteworthy are the winglet-style lugs, gracefully curving to ensure a snug and comfortable fit on the wrist. On the flip-side, a sapphire exhibition caseback offers a mesmerizing view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. Adorned with sparkling jewels, golden gears, and showcasing an off-center 22k gold micro-rotor bearing the Calatrava cross engraving, it adds an exquisite touch to the timepiece.Featuring an innovative mechanism patented back in 1999, this timepiece allows users to effortlessly adjust all the distinct World Time displays in one-hour increments. A simple press of the pusher at 10 o’clock synchronizes them seamlessly. Completing its durability is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (100 feet).Time is exhibited on an opaline blue-gray dial with hand-applied “carbon” pattern, and gold-applied hour index markers, followed by a series of outer rings. First off is a two-tone gray and blue 24h ring, adorned with a sun (day-time) and crescent moon (night-time). Day-time is represented by blue numerals on a light-gray background; while night-time is represented with light-gray numerals on a blue background.Moving inward, two consecutive world timer city rings display 24 city names corresponding to different time zones. The current local time is highlighted by a small red arrow positioned at 12 o'clock, while the times of the other 23 zones are visible on the 24-hour ring rotating counter-clockwise within the city disk.A new addition to this exquisite dial is the date track, discreetly positioned on the sloped flange and marked by a transparent hand featuring a subtle red rectangular tip. The central gold hands add a touch of sophistication, with the pierced hour hand reminiscent of the iconic “Southern Cross” constellation, while the minute hand boasts a distinctive lozenge-shaped contour.
