The Patek Philippe 5270P continues the lineage of one of the manufacture’s most revered modern grand complications. Since the introduction of the in-house calibre CH 29-535 PS Q in 2011, the reference 5270 has represented Patek Philippe’s definitive interpretation of the perpetual calendar chronograph, as a complication pairing that remains among the most technically demanding in traditional watchmaking. For 2026, the collection expands with three contemporary platinum executions: the charcoal-grey 5270P-015, the blue 5270P-016, and the striking red 5270P-017. Together, they introduce a noticeably sportier and more modern personality through lacquered gradient dials and concave bezels, while preserving the mechanical seriousness and classical architecture that define the model.
The fully polished platinum case measures 41mm in diameter and 12.4mm in thickness. Its proportions remain elegant despite the complexity housed within, while the concave bezel introduces a sharper and more modern profile than previous iterations of the 5270.

The signature two-tier lugs continue to frame the case beautifully, adding depth and refinement to the overall silhouette.

Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback displaying the manually wound calibre CH 29-535 PS Q. The movement showcases traditional haute horlogerie finishing throughout, including Geneva striping, polished bevels, and finely executed chronograph architecture. As expected from a platinum Patek Philippe reference, a small diamond is discreetly set into the case at 6 o’clock.

The chronograph pushers integrate cleanly into the polished caseband, while the crown maintains the restrained elegance expected from the reference. Sapphire crystals protect both sides of the watch while preserving excellent visibility of the dial and movement. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (100 feet).

The collection is now offered in three lacquered dial executions, each paired with a black-gradient rim for added depth and contrast. The reference 5270P-015 features a sunburst lacquered charcoal-grey dial,

while the 5270P-016 opts for a deep lacquered blue tone.

The boldest of the trio is the 5270P-017, presented with a rich lacquered red dial. Despite their differing personalities, all three maintain the same refined perpetual calendar chronograph layout.

White gold faceted “obus”-style applied hour markers and dauphine hands are used throughout the collection, paired with a printed white tachymeter scale along the outer perimeter.

The perpetual calendar indications remain classically arranged, with the day ad month displayed through a double aperture at 12 o’clock, separate day/night and leap year apertures, and a moon phase display positioned above the date indication at 6 o’clock.

The lacquered surfaces produce dramatic transitions between light and shadow, particularly around the darker gradient edges. The charcoal-grey version feels restrained and contemporary, the blue execution slightly more elegant and traditional, while the red variant introduces an unexpectedly bold sporting character to the grand complication. Across all three references, the layered subdials, polished white gold details, and gradient finishing create impressive visual depth without compromising legibility.
