Patek Philippe introduces the Calatrava 8 Days Reference 5328G-001, a classically styled dress watch powered by a newly developed hand-wound movement with an eight-day power reserve and instantaneous calendar display. Housed in a 41mm white gold case with a hobnail-patterned caseband, this release bridges Patek’s traditional aesthetics with modern technical refinement. From the Advanced Research Pulsomax escapement to the triple-fold clasp, every detail has been designed with both beauty and long-term functionality in mind.
Crafted from 18k white gold, the case of the new Calatrava 8 Days Ref. 5328G-001 measures 41mm in diameter and 10.52mm in height, with gently sloping lugs that allow it to sit comfortably on the wrist despite its generous dimensions. 
The polished bezel surrounds a domed sapphire crystal, while the central design flourish is found along the mid-case: a sharply executed Clous de Paris hobnail guilloché pattern that wraps the case in full, bringing historic texture and refined visual interest.
The caseback construction is notably unconventional. The lugs are soldered directly to the back, rather than the caseband, allowing the hobnail motif to continue uninterrupted across the entire case. A large sapphire crystal reveals the manually wound movement within, offering a full view of the twin-barrel layout and bridges decorated with Geneva striping.
It comes equipped with a fluted white gold crown embossed with the Calatrava cross and sized for easy manual winding, offering a tactile experience that complements the watch’s mechanical nature. The triple-step bezel adds depth and presence to the case profile, subtly catching light at different angles.
Combined with the downward taper of the lugs, which curve gently for ergonomic wear, the case manages to balance classical proportions with robust character. Water-resistance can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
The dial of the Calatrava 8 Days is crafted from brass and finished in a subtly grained deep blue tone with a gradient effect that darkens towards the periphery. 
A printed white railway-style minute track encircles the dial, complemented by a set of applied Arabic numerals rendered in polished white gold.
At 12 o’clock, the arched power reserve indicator displays a full eight-day scale, with the ninth day marked in red to alert the wearer of the remaining margin. The lower half of the dial hosts the instantaneous day and date display, with the day shown through an aperture and the date indicated by a central baton-style hand sweeping over a recessed subdial. A small seconds counter is integrated into the same register for symmetry.
All display elements are carefully arranged for clarity, and the white gold syringe-style hour and minute hands are filled with luminous material, offering strong contrast and nighttime visibility. The balance of textures, recessed indications, and layered construction give the dial notable depth without compromising Patek Philippe’s traditional restraint.

The “Patek Philippe Calatrava 8 Days” (Ref#: 5328G-001) is powered by the in-house manually wound mechanical movement, Caliber 31‑505 8J PS IRM CI J, composed of 256 parts and featuring 50 jewels, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph. It is equipped with a Gyromax® balance and a Spiromax® balance spring in Silinvar®, part of the brand’s Advanced Research program. Thanks to its twin series-coupled barrels, the power reserve lasts up to 8 days when fully wound, with a red warning zone marking the ninth day on the arched power reserve indicator.
Mounted on the watch is a hand-stitched blue calfskin leather strap embossed with a textile pattern and finished with cream-colored stitching for a slightly more casual, contemporary appeal. It comes equipped with a newly patented triple-blade fold-over clasp in matching white gold, designed to enhance comfort and security on the wrist while also allowing for quick, tool-free strap changes. 
An additional grained taupe calfskin leather strap is included, offering a versatile second look out of the box.
