Panerai Radiomir Venti "Paneristi"
No matter how wide spread a brands recognition may be, it all started with a few loyal fans. This new Officine Panerai is meant to celebrate one of its most established and active community, known as the “Paneristi”. Their website “Panerisit.com” has been an unofficial resource for Panerai aficionados since 2000 and to celebrate its 20th anniversary Panerai has bestowed them with the honor of releasing this official “Panerai Radiomir Venti” in a limited edition. The 45mm case is made of stainless-steel with a polished finish and height of only 14.15mm. A thin design that provides a very discreet look and minor heft. On the flip-side is a solid case back, which has been engraved with a large numeral and celebratory inscription reading “20 PANERISTI Anniversario”.
It comes equipped with a knurled setting-crown that showcases an “OP” logo engraving and the iconic Radiomir style wire loop strap lugs that provide a very comfortable wrist fit.In essence this is a modern interpretation of the classic “Radiomir” models dating back to the 1930’s, with very subtle retouching. All topped with a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on a brown sun-ray brushed finish dial with the Arabic numerals 3, 6, 9 and 12. Its all carved out on the classic Panerai sandwich type dial, in which a top plate is precisely cut to reveal the hour index markers and numerals layered underneath. The upper-half has been inscribed with “RADIOMIR PANERAI” in a contrasting white font. While the lower-half has placed the “PANERISTI.COM” logo with the anniversary time frame of “2000-2020”, in a much more low-key fashion. Its dark font gracefully blends with its brown background, but still manages to impose a notable presence. While the light khaki hue of the numerals and indexes gives the watch a very tasteful vintage look and feel. Despite the steel case Panerai has opted for a pair of gold tone sword-shaped central hands. The central hands, numerals, and index markers have all been fitted with a green luminescent, for an enhanced legibility.
