Panerai Radiomir Officine
The historical Radiomir models, specifically PAM00753 and PAM00754, have undergone a redesign with a fresh perspective and a focus on aesthetics, aligning them with the new Radiomir design principles. This revamp represents a modern interpretation of the original Radiomir prototype from 1935, which served as a precursor to the first-ever military diver's watch, the Panerai Radiomir, introduced in 1938. This new release is a tribute to various distinctive elements of the 1935 Radiomir prototype while integrating contemporary technical advancements, resulting in a timepiece that holds broad appeal for watch enthusiasts. The cushion-shaped 45mm case is made of 316L stainless-steel with an overall polished finish. Mounted to the case is a thin steel bezel that follows the same aesthetics, seamlessly blending in with the case and providing a cohesive design. The bezel also seems to have a more denounced mirror-like finish, offering some contrast to the main case portion. On the flip-side is a solid steel screw-on caseback engraved with some technical information. Other than that it adequately serves its purpose of keeping it safe from outer elements. It comes equipped with Radiomir’s signature thin wire lugs and a knurled cone-shaped crown, embossed by the “OP” logo. All topped by a domed sapphire crystal. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on the iconic Panerai sandwich dial in brown with the hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 3, 6, and 12. All these indicators are in a beige hue that gives off a bit of that faux-vintage charm. All these elements appear as cut-aways on Panerai’s iconic “sandwich” layered dial. Except for the upper-half “RADIOMIR PANERAI” inscriptions, which also appears in beige to match the numerals and indices. The central stainless-steel hour/minutes hands, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all been fitted with a green luminescent hue, for an enhanced legibility. The divided hour hand is a subtle, vintage detail usually only seen on historic Radiomir models, although Panerai has incorporated this detail in several of their latest Radiomir releases.
