Panerai Luminor Quaranta Verde Militare
Back in November of 2021 we saw Officine Panerai release a series of 40mm size watches. For a brand that is widely associated with large timepieces, the smaller offerings came as a surprise. It might not be for everyone, but there were definitely many watch enthusiasts that found this option to be a better wrist fit. To distinguish this collection Panerai named it “Quaranta” which is Italian for “forty”. Now they’ve returned to release an all new limited edition “Luminor Marina Quaranta” with a military green dial.The 40mm case is made of stainless-steel with a satin-brushed finish and a solid case back. 
This is essentially the same cushion-shape case with all the same distinctive design elements fans have come to enjoy in the Luminor collection, just in a smaller size.
Mounted to the case is a polished steel bezel with a smooth polished finish, which offers a subtle contrast to the brushed case design.
It also includes the iconic Luminor Marina crown protection with the locking gear lever that secures the setting-crown in place. All topped by a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance reaching up to 100 meters (330 feet).
Time is exhibited on a military green dial with rectangular hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6 and 12. All these elements appear as cut-aways on Panerai’s iconic “sandwich” layered dial.
There is also a sub-seconds dial aligned with the 9 o’clock position and a small square date aperture at the 3 o’clock spot. 
The steel central hands, as well as the sub-seconds hand, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating that emits a green glow, for an enhanced legibility.
Panerai Luminor Quaranta Verde Militare
The “Panerai Luminor Quaranta Verde Militare” (Ref#: PAM01304) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber P.900 with 23 jewels, 12 ½ lignes, 171 components and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with the registered Incabloc anti-shock device. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 72 hours (3 days), when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is a green alligator scaled leather strap with exposed tone-on-tone stitchings, secured to the wrist by a steel pin buckle. This is a limited edition of only 500 manufactured pieces. For more up to date information visit the official Officine Panerai website here.
