The Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo Goldtech elegantly showcases Panerai’s mastery in combining luxury with functional design. This timepiece diverges from Panerai's typical robust and tactical models, leaning instead towards the more luxurious spectrum with its use of Panerai’s exclusive Goldtech material. The Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo Goldtech features a 40mm case made from Goldtech, Panerai’s proprietary alloy of rose gold. This alloy includes platinum and copper, enhancing the luster and resistance to tarnishing, which is especially pronounced on the polished bezel. To provide visual contrast, the rest of the case is finished with a brushed texture, differentiating it from the polished bezel and adding depth to the watch’s appearance.
On the flipside is a sapphire exhibition caseback that allows a view into the inner workings of the mechanical movement. It features several jewels, exposed screws and a steel oscillating weight decorated with a grainy, brushed-like finish.
It also comes equipped with the iconic extra reinforced Panerai crown guard featuring a detachable security lever. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 100 meters (328 feet).
Time is exhibited on a sun-brushed deep black dial with long white hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6, and 12. All these elements appear as cut-aways on Panerai’s iconic “sandwich” layered dial. Except for the upper-half “LUMINOR PANERAI” and lower-half “BiTempo” inscriptions, which have been printed directly on the dial.
Executed in a deep black with a sunray brush finish, it resembles polished obsidian, providing a dramatic backdrop for the gold-tone accents. 
The central sword-shaped steel hands, the Arabic numerals, the hour indices markers, GMT arrow-tip, and sub-seconds hand have all been fitted with a white Super-LumiNova that actually glows green. There is a date aperture at 3 o'clock position with very legible white numerals.

The “Officine Panerai Luminor Quaranta BiTempo Goldtech” (Ref#: PAM01641) is powered by the in-house hand-wound mechanical movement, caliber P.900/GMT with 23 jewels, 12 1/2 lignes, 171 components and 28,800 vph. Power reserve can last up to 72 hours (3 days), when fully wound.
Mounted on the watch is a luxurious black alligator scaled strap with tone-on-tone stitchings, secured to the wrist by Panerai's innovative PAM click release system, allowing for easy interchangeability without the need for tools.
