Panerai Luminor Marina Quaranta

Initially one of the key factors that distinguished the many offerings of Officine Panerai compared to other brands were the big sized watches in their collection. But, as time moved on their selection widened and now we get to welcome a collection of smaller 40mm models, introducing the new “Panerai Luminor Marina Quaranta”.The 40mm case is made of stainless-steel with a satin-brushed finish and a solid case back. This is essentially the same cushion-shape case with all the same distinctive design elements fans have come to enjoy in the Luminor collection, but in a smaller size.Mounted to the case is a polished steel bezel with a smooth polished finish, which offers a subtle contrast to the brushed case design.It also includes the iconic Luminor Marina crown protection with the locking gear lever that secures the setting-crown in place. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water-resistance reaching up to 100 meters (330 feet).Time is exhibited on either a black, white, or blue dial with a satiné soleil decoration. All these dials feature rectangular hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 6 and 12. These elements are seen as cut-aways on Panerai’s iconic “sandwich” structured dial.There is also a sub-seconds dial aligned with the 9 o’clock position and a small date aperture at the 3 o’clock spot.The steel central hands, as well as the sub-seconds hand, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating that emits a green glow (except the small seconds hand that glows in blue on the black dial version), for an enhanced legibility.

Panerai Luminor Marina Quaranta

The “Panerai Luminor Marina Quaranta” (References below) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber P.900 with 23 jewels, 12 ½  lignes, 171 components and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with the registered Incabloc anti-shock device. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 72 hours (3 days), when fully wound.Mounted to the watches is a black or blue alligator leather strap with exposed stitching, secured to the wrist by a steel pin buckle.
