Panerai continues its partnership with the Luna Rossa sailing team with the new Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768. Since the collaboration began in 2019, the collection has become a testing ground for sporty materials, practical complications, and designs inspired by competitive sailing. The latest chronograph brings that formula back to the classic Luminor case, combining a silver sun-brushed dial, bold red accents, and a tachymeter scale designed to measure average speed. Limited to 500 pieces, it is the more performance-focused of Panerai’s two latest Luna Rossa releases.
The Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 is housed in a brushed stainless-steel case measuring 44mm in diameter. Its cushion-shaped profile, broad lugs, and commanding presence remain unmistakably Panerai, while the restrained steel finishing keeps the focus on the sportier details of the dial and strap.
Turning the watch over reveals a solid stainless-steel caseback that conceals the automatic chronograph movement within. The closed construction reinforces the robust character of the watch and provides a suitable canvas for the commemorative detailing associated with this 500-piece Luna Rossa edition.
The signature crown-protecting bridge secures the winding crown, while the chronograph pushers control the timing functions. A sapphire crystal protects the dial and preserves clear visibility across the expansive display. Water-resistance can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).
The silver sun-brushed dial gives the watch a clean and technical appearance while reflecting the metallic tones associated with the Luna Rossa racing yacht. Red accents introduce the team’s signature colour and provide sharp contrast against the lighter background.
The chronograph display is paired with a tachymeter scale positioned around the flange. Used together with the red and white central chronograph seconds hand,
it allows the wearer to calculate average speed over a measured kilometre and display the result in kilometres or miles per hour.
Large applied hour markers and familiar Panerai hands preserve the bold legibility expected from the Luminor collection. White Super-LumiNova improves visibility in low-light conditions, while the vivid red details bring energy to the otherwise restrained silver dial.

The “Officine Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono” (Ref#: PAM01768) is powered by the in-house self-winding mechanical movement, caliber P.9210, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). It comes equipped with hours, minutes, running seconds, and automatic chronograph functions controlled through the case-mounted pushers. Power reserve can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted on this watch is a grey bi-material textile and rubber elastic strap with a Velcro-style closure and a red central stripe, secured through a quick-adjust design suited to active use.
Panerai also includes a second black rubber strap, allowing the watch to adopt a more traditional diving-inspired appearance while preserving the sporty personality of the brushed steel case.
The Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 is limited to 500 pieces and is delivered in a deluxe blue cherry wood presentation box.
